Absoutely love it!
The first thing I will say is when i'm on the green, it just gives me so much confidence, and anything around the 6-10ft mark I just feel i'm going to hole it. I had zero 3 putts today, and most of my first putts were within tap-in distance.
Secondly, the stability of the strike is something I haven't felt before, it promotes a great pendulum like swing and follow through.
For a £30 punt on ebay, i'm really impressed, and may I say it's love at first sight!

Take no notice of the ones who don't understand that cheating is breaking the rules, not playing within them!

Didn't I hear one of the commentators on the Players last night say the R&A are re-visiting this subject very soon?

The R&A are actively reviewing the "anchoring" of the putter during a stroke with a view to implement any changes deemed necessary in 2016 to coincide with the next issue of the rules book.

Its cheating!!!

I cant wait for the day the R&A come out with a maximum shaft length that outlaws belly putters and broom handle putters, I absolutely detest them :(

It isnt cheating as the R&A have made an error in allowing them to be used.

However, I share your detest of these abominations. I am delighted to hear that they are going to look at this issue again too as common sense has to prevail. Sticking something to your chin or in your gut isn't right. It isn't golf. You hold golf clubs in your hands. End of story.

But using one isn't cheating. It's fundamentally wrong of course, but it isn't breaking any rules.

Cool, so I have at least 4 years before anything changes. That's longer than most of my past relationships:rofl:

Exactly! The funny thing is that if they gave them a try, they might become quite taken with them:)

Every single golfer in the world can use one if they want and if they putt better with one so much the better - I hope for your sake Snelly that they don't make them compulsory and ban the short stick!

Tried one at my putter fitting end of February. Trialled a Scotty Cameron Kombi-S, Taylormade Gost Spider and a YES! Tiffany.

Still ended up coming away with a 33" short stick :D
That's fair enough, at the end of the day putting is a personal thing. If something gives me the confidence to go out and get lower scores then i'm going to use it for sure. If it becomes outlawed so be it, rules is rules.

Although I have some sympathy with the outraged traditionalists, I recently picked one up myself. At the end of the day if a bunch of highly respected Tour pros use one, why shouldn't one of us. You don't see the pros with chippers, though.

Really?

The governing bodies have turned a blind eye up to now because it was only older golfers who'd suffered from the yips that resorted to using them which allowed them to continue to enjoy playing the game. However, now they are currently being mass-produced in the USA for children, they have been compelled to re-evaluate the situation.

I will be very surprised if they (as in the USGA and the R&A) don't ban anchoring because the game is historically based on a free-swinging movement of the club ... including the putter.

It can't come soon enough.

they are doing it in a couple of months to come in for the pros in 2016,and us mere mortals sooner.

Whatever the debate on if and when they change the rules the point is the anchoring is fundamentally wrong in my own opinion. However as this doesn't transgress anything in the rules book and players are clearly able to make a good number of putts using the belly putter then fill your boots while you can.

wrong!!! they are having a special meeting and going to change the rules to come into force by 2016.
But they are completely divided into a yes and no camp so its not a fogone conclusion! He did say that the anchoring was the issue, but he couldnt see a ban coming in cos they have been around for such a long time now. they should have made the decision to ban when they first appeared.

of course, committees change and by 2016 they could have a pile of members who agree to ban!
