You forgot winning the most England caps as an outfield player, captaining the side for the majority, and never ever retiring from internationals even at the age of 35 - he was always available. One time he even flew from LA all around the world for a cameo sub appearance and back to LA for a match the next day. Proper legend. Led by example. How we could do with someone like him now.

Sorry but none of that makes someone a “hero” and a legend - I believe the England team got further in a World Cup without him.

Who happens to have done rather well for himself, to many he is a hero,
Served Man U and England well

Perhaps that’s your problem

Respect because someone got away with breaking the law ? A guy kicking a football around and milking it all due to his looks and marrying a pop star a hero ? Nah I prefer to think of Hero’s as people who have actually done something worthy to be called a hero - kicking a ball around isn’t one.
Why should I “respect” Beckham ?

I know we had some fun earlier, but seriously have you been sniffing glue behind the bike sheds at school? Towards the end he was chasing caps to get the record as it helped his brand!! That England 'Golden Generation' side should've been built around the likes of Scholes, Gerard and Joe Cole, who were twice the footballers Beckham ever was.

Good point well made. The Beckham brand has done fantastically and Victoria has made a success of fashion and raising a family. Hardly talentless and funny coming from someone always looking for the moral high ground. They aren't without flaws or making mistakes as the court case demonstrates but show me any family, of any standing that hasn't regretted actions and decisions

Yep tough to raise a family with an army of nannys and helpers! Doubt she's had to get the kids to school in a rush, go and do a full day at the office, and then rush back to cook dinner for the kids, help them with homework, put them to bed, and then do household chores!!

Whatever she has done or hasn't done its obvious her kids have a lot of love for her and respect.
Calling her a skeleton is IMO totally out of order,
