Well this has got some of the hand wringers out.

The Government gives inducements to company's to move and work in the U.K.

NOG,s and charities give inducements to foreign country's and personnel so that they can spend our money from the aid budget.

Local Authorities give inducements for company's to move into their area.

Planners give inducements to local councillors and planners so they can build houses, super markets and anything else that can make them money.

We then ring our hands when a company offers inducements to make money and provide many jobs around the country.

Unfortunatly that's how the world works, doesn't make it right but without it, investigatory jurnos wouldn't have a job.

No hand wringing here. I fully understand how the world turns. I just find the hypocrisy amusing. Do whatever it takes to make money, but God forbid you cheat at golf. Only a rotten bounder would do that :rofl:

Just because a few of us differ with your views do not make us more likely to cheat at Golf.

Golf has a comprehensive set of internationally recognised rules under which we all play - international trade does not.

I cheat at golf but have never bribed anyone to win a major aircraft engine contract. Where does that leave me?

Surely a lower score.....

And most companies, including Rolls Royce, have a very strict code of conduct and ethics. So in that way there is a very well defined set of rules in which employees are supposed to play by. My company is a multinational and we do not do business in some very big potential markets. As our code of ethics says that we are not to engage in such dubious business practices that are needed in some countries to win contracts.

Good old BBC... get themselves in a knot... some places business doesn't happen without some form of "incentive." Part of the culture and tradition. Thought the BBC was a supporter of cultural diversity!

Please re-read my posts and please point out where I inferred that anyone here cheated at golf.. If you carefully read what I wrote you'll clearly see me call out the hypocrisy of the situation.. Again, I did not say that anyone did cheat, just that our reaction to it is amusing... Clear enough?
