I played today on hit a nice drive on a par 5. When I got to the ball it had found its way into an unnatural dip. It was as though somebody had stepped on a ball previously and now mine was sitting in an ‘eggcup’ in the fairway.
is this just bad luck or can it be moved? It wasn’t a comp or anything, I just wanted to keep within the rules.

Rub of the green as they say, basic rule of golf is play as it lies, same with divots now. if you were on preffered lies you could move it.

Rub of the green unless it was your own pitch mark, animal hole or marked as GUR/NPZ.

Have your club not brought in Winter Rules yet?
