Audi drivers on motorways

I have a Mortgage - I don't work in the Snow......

Letting Learner Drivers loose in this..? - not a chance......

As part compensation for a bad experience with a purchase of a car a long time ago, I had a session wit a 'skid and slide' car - simulating ice and water conditions. Great fun; the awareness that it taught avoided need to use its practical training more than the one time it came in handy!

Had fun in the snow on an otherwise empty Braid Hills car park when I first got Arnold too - over 10 years ago!

I have been on a skid pan. Mucked about drifting rwd cars round round abouts, j turns, etc. it's fun. Useless skill, but fun. I'm quite good at it.

About ten years ago, I was staying at a hotel out in the sticks in Yorkshire. It snowed over night. In the morning, I figured I'd get the car from the car park, and bring it to the hotel door to pack the suitcases. The car park sloped up to the drive. Traction control was kicking in, engine limiter was limping the car up the slope. Beamer, useless in the conditions. Got to the top. they had gritted the drive, so it was clear of snow. For all of 12 feet, then it was snow all the way down to the hotel. The drive went round the back for deliveries. Fine for the van drivers then.
Well, the rear tyres hit the tar mac, grip was restored, and the Beamer took off like a scalded cat. Then hit the down slope. No control at all. Tried steering left, right, braking, hand braking, nothing. All I could see coming up was a shunt into a 10 ft diameter granite rock, decoratively positioned in front of some steps.
I though about jumping out. I had plenty of time, but figured it wouldn't look so good on the insurance forms if I wasn't in the car when it crashed.
Bang. One car written off. I was fine though, but had some explaining to do to the misses, as it was her car.

Snow. Used to view it as a bit of fun. Now view it as a dangerous pain in the bum.
