I have to have everything Adidas in my other sports such as Football. I've never bought anything Nike as for some strange reason... I hate Nike.

I could of write that myself! You wont catch me in any golfing t-shirt except my adidas ones

No for me, most of my clubs are second hand from ebay, I carry a Dunlop 64 degree wedge in my bag and have a Dunlop polo, used to have some Dunlop trousers but they faded too quickly. a few of my other polos are non-golf brands.

I'm not sure the Dunlop 'brand' is a very good example....is the 'Dunlop logo' not just part of a wide ranging sponsorship deal that some of Chubby's men have?

But in answer to the question....yes!!

There is a difference between being a snob and wanting good quality equipment.

The fact is that Dunlop is now a bargain basement brand (unlike in the 1980s) and is made from cheap components. GM and other mags review top end equipment and give rave reviews to the latest Callaway, TM, Ping etc stuff, with an occasional nod to the better quality mid price stuff such as MD and Benross, but reviews of the cheap stuff are often horrible.

Garbage - amongst my golf polos are two White ones, one has a Nike swoosh, one has the Dunlop logo. There is absolutely no difference in quality, they are probably made in the same far eastern sweatshop by people earning pennies. The difference is in marketing.

Their woods however aren't great - I'm sure the graphite shafts are just bits of old fishing rod.

Not really.

I like having good gear but wouldnt buy something just for the brand.

I dont like Nike as a brand but have some of their gear as it's worked for me and i like the clubs. Could have been any make just happened to be Nike.

Ironically i would only wear Mizuno footy boots and would never had bought Nike!!

I'm not a brand snob. But I like to get the best possible for my budget. Which is no more than £30 for Polos and £50 for trousers.
Would I wear dunlop gear. Probo not but not because of a brand name but because the quality is inferior. If I'm spending my hard earned then I want the stuff to last.

I use Ashworth shirts (Large)because I know they will fit the longer body and allow me to swing a golf club without pulling out of my trouser waistband. Mizuno XL are too small. I do use Dunlop trousers but I only have a Srixon bag because my son gave it to me.

I think that puts me in the 'sometimes' section.

I have so many brands it's difficult to know exactly what I have; Loudmouth obviously, Nike, Tesco, Matalan, Sunice, Sunderland, Dunlop, Callaway, Asworth, C&B - I look for the sales and 2for1 weekends.

I put yes but only cos I dont really understand the question.

;) ;) ;)

Most of my clothing is going down the FJ route and all my bag is Titleist. :o

I think its natural for people to wear/use the same things as people they follow/support etc.
Im a big fan of Sergio Garcia, sub-consciously found myself buying Adidas clothing and started liking TM gear more and more.
Although price does come into it, Adidas is a good priced well known/respected sports clothing company! When i first started i dreamt of being Luke Donald so bought the MP-32s and Mizuno bag. Still have the bag, but traded in the blades for more suitable TM bats.

I am but only with my equipment, not so much with clothes.

All my gear is Taylormade, but my clothes are a selection of Adidas, Footjoy and Matalans' finest

I guess so, but I'm more a "last season's" brand snob. I've been buying a lot of Cutter and Buck and Calvin Klein Golf tops recently, but these were half price or more in sales.

There's no doubt in my mind that the leading brands, whilst trading on their name, also seem to have a superior build quality.

Only ever buy Footjoy shoes.

As for equipment, I'm not so much a brand snob as a whatever works for me. Doesn't have to be latest range or premium, but if it works, then great. It just so happens that the ones that work for me (with the exception of the lobwedge are all premium brands.
