After a torrid two years with game golf, I’ve just been researching these and found out they are moving to an $99 p.a. Subscription service early in the new year for any new devices to bring them inline with the grips but they will still honour a zero subscription package for existing users on the 2019 sensors. They will operate the same and you won’t lose functionality as updates develop according to their FAQs.

If you’re thinking of buying, golf online have £50 off at present.

I personally think arccos is the better of the three systems, the phone in your pocket is the only draw back but I dont find it intrusive by any means, you might have to add the odd tap in putts but since a recent update some months ago that has improved shot scope is a good alternative but I don't think the stats compare to gg or arccos

The Garmin system is pretty good for tee to green but lacks in the putting unless you buy the sensors for the putter. I've used the X40 Approach for a couple of seasons now and it usually suggests the right club for me and it takes a couple of seconds to stick in the putts and if I hit the fairway while walking to the next tee.

Is that the c10 sensors I might be wrong about the name, I saw it when the s40 maybe s60 came out and had that system and it looked decent, a bit on the expensive side, I haven't tried it or know anyone who has, garmin makes good watches and other golf related products so I have no doubt the tracking system will be of the same nature

How have you found using these Jigger?
Reasonable. Better than game golf and the app is superb. It has a caddy function which gives you a plays like distance for slope and wind etc. It’s easily disable for comps too. The gps overlay works well too.

2 issues
Missed shots. To avoid this I start my routine by holding the butt of my club next to my phone pocket In my left hand. It still misses a couple of putts. I don’t personally notice my phone in my pocket. i had a few missed shots to start but you have to keep your iPhone (not sure of mic position on other phones) the right way up with the screen facing out over.

Shot ID via Apple Watch is a massive issue as there is a comms issue with Apple at the minute which the Arcoss app cant cope with. They are hopeful it will be sorted in the next two releases by Apple Albeit the update this week didn’t fix it. This is however just for shot detection so you don’t need the phone in your pocket. The watch app works great as a gps unit. Much better than game golf.

overall I’d say it’s the best out there. I’ve no phone battery or Apple Watch (as presently used) battery issues. I’ve not had enough rounds to use club recommendation yet. My only concern is the tags only have a 3 to 5 year lifetime. Replacements are £20 each and the battery only activates when the but of the club is facing upward. It’s reliant on the app being on and daylight but I wonder how my main range iron will fair.

hope this helps

I didn't use arccos or any tracking for the first time in a long while, just good old score card and I played great, thinking I'm more checking the phone than playing if I'm trackjng the round, going to leave the tracking for a while and see if it was a fluke round

I had the last version and to be honest it got tiresome. The hassle of the phone in your pocket. Ive played much better without these last few years.

Having tried game golf and their sensors I've been put off the whole sensor thing because of missed shots/putts. Having to have the phone in my pocket is a big no from me as well. I love the stats all of these systems bring but find it a pain that they still aren't at a stage where they pick up every shot/putt. I do think this section of golf gear is one that will explode in the next 5-10 years as the GPS devices did when Sky Caddie and Garmin first started out. Once they iron the glitches out they'll be some brilliant stuff (and accurate) for us to register and learn from our statistics

I like arccos, phone was a bit of an issue but not a deal breaker, but I'm now thinking along you lines, plus now that they want £100 for the caddy (which I don't use) or lose your stats, I'm out

That's steep. A shame but as I say once the market explodes then someone will find the right combination of sensor/reader that is accurate without the need to have the phone in your pocket and give you all the stats you need (probably too many). Whatever comes out though, strokes gained/lost will be a must

I like my Arccos and I don't have any problems with it. I don't use the watch app which is in beta anyway, and a lot of people see this as the main error that the watch isn't working properly. I upgraded the putter sensor to use it for shot detection but went back to normal mode very quickly. I can still use the watch as display but currently I don't even do that. Somehow when I swing I activate Siri, but I also do that when I am running with Strava. It's me, not the app.

I have no problem with the phone in my front pocket. I don't have an XL phone, just a normal iPhone. But as it picks up the shot by sound you need the phone close. Puts are sometimes missed for tip ins, but it says you need to address the ball for the put to register. It's not difficult to just press +1 on the app. I think even on the phone in display mode.
The link bit is now supposed to come out in July. It is supposed to replace the phone for shot tracking. At that point you could leave it on the trolley/bag.

And I use the phone a lot. I have a range finder which I can laser the flag with, but on the app I use the range for front and back, the finder just confirmed where in relation to that the flag is.
It's my main GPS therefore I don't see me getting the link and leaving the shoe in the bag.

I don't use caddy as I am on a steep improvement curve at the moment. I trained the system with s**t golf for a long time, it doesn't know that if I hit my 7i well it goes 135 yard, it wants me to use it for 110 yard shots. That's not the system that is wrong, it is the data I created over a long time. But the recommendations are getting better every round. I think they are also displayed on the watch.

And the stats you get after a round are great. I still go in and see if the shots are picked up, the lie (fairway, rough, sand) are correct. And then I can see where the issues are in my game. And you can compare each hole to every time you plaid it before. At the moment it's great for me as the newest round just stand out so much in a positive way. This is my nemesis hole where today I hit the best drive today, see the bold line:

One thing a lot of people complain in the user group is the android operation system, especially the Samsung S20 not working. I don't know why they don't complain to Samsung. All other Samsung phones work, they must be the ones to have changed something.

I don't think I will have to upgrade to a subscription. I got my plugin sensors a couple of years ago and they came subscription free. So I won't upgrade to any other sensors, and I won't get Cobra clubs or Ping clubs with sensors included. The moment I would get new Pings I would get the normal grip and just plug my sensors into them.

Somehow when I swing I activate Siri, but I also do that when I am running with Strava. It's me, not the app.

This will most likely be due to a long press of the crown, caused by the back of your hand pushing on it in your swing (and while running?). I have switched my watch to have the crown on the forearm side of the watch and no longer have this problem... accessing the crown and side button for other functions becomes a bit trickier though

I’m finding it difficult to understand why a phone in your pocket puts you off playing a shot, or the ability to play a shot correctly?

My right pocket is full of tees, ball marker, pitch repairer, so quite a ‘lump’ of multiple items, so why does a slimline phone affect some of you ?

Is it just an excuse to blame something when you played a poor shot ?

Didnt bother me after a few shots, I got use to it quite quickly, I did find I would check my phone a lot,
Think people who find its awkward will depend on the size of phone they have

Had game golf love the idea, sadly it's hassle. how often do you go back and view your info? 2020 is about putting the phone away and relaxing not then seeing a pop up email or text taking your mind away from the game?

sold out on the link :-(

Not sure if I'm missing something but when I look on the put stats its only letting me edit the first put and the flagstick. Its not showing my second putt? anyone have any idea about this?
