Following a recent discovery that I was conned re CDs I have bought a new record player (inherited one previously) and have never been happier. I sold my CD player last week as all my CDs are ripped to lossless codecs and my newly aquired Sonos can stream them to my amp. Why did I, like so many others think CD would ever be better??:ooo:

Still do lol.
They make nice mug mats now they are redundant:)
Marillion never sounded so good.........
Just got to find Seventh Son now and all will be well - anyone got a good condition vinyl edition?

I listen to vinyl every day. Set of Technics SL1200Mk2s that I've had for about 18 years is my player of choice. Runs through a Allan Pro mixer and a Marantz amp with a couple of B&W 602s attached. Nice sound comes from my vinyl collection.

Still got my Rega Planar 3 and listen to the records that I bought in my youth and the odd new one. And as I get older I love the fact that I can read the sleeve notes without resorting to a magnifying glass unlike CD's ;)

Yep - still have a Linn Axis which gets played now and again -mostly classical. Didn't replace all our records like for like so still have some stuff on vinyl that we don't have on CD.

Father in Law was (is) a bit of a Hi-Fi geek and gave us some Quad stuff back in the 80's - quality.

I like CDs though. Trouble with vinyl was all the palaver of putting the record on and taking it off, cleaning the record and the stylus etc. I think they do sometimes sound better than CDs though. Whether that's because we still are using our first CD player (a Philips CD472) I don't know. It still performs well so can't see the point of changing it even though it must be 20/25 years old.

Can't really get into ipods and digital files. I like to have something tangible. Nothing like a beautiful record sleeve. Deutsche Grammophon were my favourite, especially the early music Archiv label. Or iconic rock ones like Tommy. Also the Blue Note sleeves - so evocative. Is there still such a thing as record sleeve art?
