Anyone into mountain biking?

Ok, after doing my usual of starting at the cheapest brakes I could find and end up lusting after the most expensive (mmmmm shimano saints!!)

I've put my sensible head on and bought some shimano XT discs with finned brake pads to aid cooling

A reasonably sensible £130 all in including rotors and adaptors, or about a 3rd of the price my original brakes cost new, how times change!!

Great buy,
Was coming here to recommend them but you've got them already.

Cheers buddy it was a toss up between the slx, and the zee's, priced up the zee's and they were over £200 with rotors etc, then compromised with the XT's seem like the best value for money right in the middle of the 2

I'm into mountain biking and coincidentally, have had two days in the last five on the downhill tracks in Leogang in Austria. I hired a Scott downhill bike and was somewhat nervous on the initial runs as even on the easier tracks, I would been over the bars of my Stumpjumper at home.

The Scott DH bike was unbelievable though. What it can take and the stuff you can just fly over is on another level to what I'm used to. After two days, I'm tackling some of the more challenging runs and if I can stump up the courage, am considering having a final fling on the World Cup downhill course here.

Glad you got your brakes sorted. :)

Quite underrated the Scott downhill bikes!

Got em on! The rear brake hose was a pig to get through the frame but after lots of swearing I got it on!
