Anyone hit a Callaway FT5 Tour?

Anyone hit the FT5 tour. There is one going for decent money on ebay that I might pick up, but wondered if any forummers had hit one?

I'm particularly looking for feedback on the acoustics, as the Yonex from GM that I am gaming at the moment sounds like a piece of two by four, and the FTiQ has a tendency to give me pull\hooks.

If it helps i had a FT-5 and it was a good long driver but i had a 8.5 degree X-Stiff low launch shaft which wasnt the easiest to hit but if you do catch one near the middle of the face you would know all about it. The sound is more of a duller sound compared to the Speed series from Cobra but not ear drum busting. Hope this helps

I enjoyed using mine till it I cracked it. Still goes ok now but not sure if the club will shatter so don't pull it out too much.
Had a 9.5 that was 1 deg open.
Callaway wouldn't change it because they hadn't fitted the shaft, but when it was ok it was a pretty powerful driver.

Had an Accra SC75 in it, M5 flex.

How much are they going for??

When you say tour you just mean the FT-5 with the tour head?

As I understand it the tour heads have the point 5 degrees and the standard go up as 9, 10, 11, 12 etc?

If so yes I have the tour head (sits less closed also)

I have a 10.5 with a Reg aldila NVS 65 shaft and its fantastic. Not the best sounding of drivers but its not too bad. I was fit for mine about 18 months ago and wont be changing anytime soon. Unless the ping tour van can work there magic on me!

That was the one.

It went for £78, and had the Adila NV Protopype stiff shaft.

Didn't go for it in the end, but managed to win a FT9 Tour, with a Proforce stiff shaft (not really bothered about the shaft and will probably stick the ZCOM on it i got with the FTiQ).

Haven't heard anything from the guy yet about delivery, and I paid via PayPal on Wednesday!!!

I have one.
I was custom fit for it.
In terms of acoustics: I don't really care what it sounds like when I hit it straight.

All I would really say is that drivers, like most clubs, are a very personal thing.
When I bought the FT5 I also tried 5 or 6 other drivers. My 2nd choice would have been the Titleist (D2?). I hated the TM Superquad & Nike Sasquatch (both of which got very highly rated at the time).

So try before you buy unless you have plenty of spare cash.
