Anyone been on holiday to Jersey

Inverness is doing some direct flights to there this summer and was thinking of a short break for myself and the current Mrs148.

Never been and don't really know anything about the place.

so anyone been and what did you think?

It's a very pleasant place, we went on a 3 day break a few years ago. The coach tour around the island is excellent value, takes you past the homes of Roger Moore & Ian Woosnam. The trip to Sark was good too, nice, unspoilt island with no cars.

Lived there for 3 years. St Helier is the only decent size town, with some good shops. Beaches are some of the best in Europe. two good golf courses, La Moye and Royal Jersey.
For a short trip I would look at staying in St Brelades. hire a car and drive around. A lot of WW11 places to see. Gerald Durrell zoo.

Went to St Helier and didn't like it. Cramped and rubbish pubs.

One of the first holidays HID and I went on. Spent a week there. Hire a car and get all around the island. Plenty of history to be enjoyed (if that's your thing) some OK shops in St Helier to browse, wonderful beaches, several golf courses, and of course a lot of WW2 reminders (poignant at the moment with the VE celebrations having been invaded). I didn't find St Helier too cramped and some great restaurants although not that many pubs around that I really enjoyed

We went 3 years ago. A nice place with some cracking beaches. St Helier's a bit of a dump though.

Guernsey's probably the better of the 2 main islands as you can go to Herm and Sark from there.

We went for a day trip to Guernsey and to be honest thought they were much of a muchness. Pretty sure there are trips to Herm and Sark from St Helier

Been twice on hols. Massive beaches. If you want quiet, travel away from St Helier. I hired a moped (and then a bike) and toured the island - great fun.
