any problems logging on with virgin media?

Anyone in the Glasgow area having problems getting on to virgin web connection?I logged on about an hour ago and came on here plus one other site(checking out something for work),went back to log on again and it comes up as can't connect,so I've run the HP check which tells me all is good and congratulations I'm connected???????NO I'M NOT!
I'm not a tech geek/guy so don't know if I just wait and hope that Virgin are on this(if its in there hands)
Technology is great when it works isn't it??
Otherwise you're stuffed!!

Call their help line on 150 , it will let you know if there is a problem in your area.

SWMBO has checked on her laptop and said that Virgin Media site is down--nice of them not to send a message to that effect!
Will just have to sit it out I suppose!

Back on at 10.30,thank you Virgin Media.No point in getting too upset as the load on their systems must be huge and the power infrastructure in the U.K. is (I'm reliably informed by an insider in the field)ready to switch off the lights sooner rather than later and we are sleepwalking into this worrying situation.Succesive governments are to blame for this...not a political rant just a bit scary don't you think?

Bit of info - some one vandalised their fibres in two areas of the country - knocked out a lot of stuff

They were also being Tupe'd from Fujitsu to a new contract yesterday so probably not happy. We had no internet in Bracknell either

all TV stations were down after midnight......even the specialist channels

The employees were Tupe'd from their current employer at 7.30 and they promptly pulled the plug. The employees are now employed on a regionalised basis and they were assuming they would be coming over at midnight when the new contract took place. Many employees not happy about going anyway and apparently many walked out of the site at 7.30 as they hadn't been told they anything different. Cue one big network crash

Sorry gents,just caught up with your comments on here re virgin media...this could explain a few things like why my t.v. has a mind of its own and seems to be constantly shutting down and rebooting.......very annoying!
Get the workers sorted out fairly and correctly.....same or better contracts and conditions.Treat them as valued people and avoid any bad feelings.

Two fibres were damaged at around 19:40 on the Tuesday night - one near the Heathrow Area and one near Bristol - engineers spliced the fibre near Heathrow and all circuits were re routed so most circuits were back by about 22:30 - they then repaired the one in Bristol.

The fibres were vandalised but as yet unsure by who - careful of whispers about internal people doing the damage

Your telly issues could be your feed and fibre having issue or an exchange issue if it's more than just you

Simply the fact that my wife was involved in the HR programme to do the TUPE and discussed the fact we had no broadband with the Programme Engineer Director in charge of the handover
