Any migraine sufferers?

I suffered with migraines for over thirty years and like others on here it used to mainly be the stabbing pain in one eye or the other. They would last exactly three days and all I wanted to do was lie in a darkened, quiet room. Only people who have actually suffered from migraines will understand the depths of despair you can sink to, just praying for the pain to go away. I think you must become immune to taking tablets as I tried almost everything although Solpheidine (?) were ok. About three years ago my blood pressure medication was adjusted and bingo, fingers firmly crossed. I haven't even had a headache since. One thing I do agree on is eating at regular times during the day.

Mine starts with a blur spot in my centre vision which then progresses to multi colours a bit like looking at a stained glass window, even with my eyes shut. This lasts around half an hour and fortunatly I dont get a headache.

HID gets them almost daily, and has had for 20 odd years. The bad ones usually involve lots of throwing up and a need for a dark room and sleep for anything up to 12 hours.

I've been getting the hint of one occasionally for a few years now. It usually starts with a zig zag bright light/line in my right eye. A fuzzy head and feeling a bit queasy. A lie down in a dark room and, twice, a bit of a nap cured them.

The wife has used Immigram for years as a supposed initial reaction to the first symptoms to try and prevent it blowing into a full grown attack. Has been working less and less well and her migraines getting more and more frequent so she is currently discussing other options with the GP after blood test etc

I get migraines but they're mainly hormonal and they are tonnes better since taking a supplement from Holland and Barrett. Obviously won't be suitable for all you men!

I do have to make sure I eat and drink regularly plus seeing an Osteopath helped as well.

I tried taking prescribed pills years back, but all they did was make me sick even quicker.:( Only cure for me was to find out was was causing them, not eating at the right time, and taking appropriate action.

I have every sympathy for fellow migraine sufferers.

so I'm assuming none of you have tried certain coloured/tinted glasses to alleviate the symptoms? possibly its never been mentioned to you but there are strong associated links and some very reputable authorities showing phenomenal results.

I tried those, especially in the summers, and I also tried special night driving glasses. None of them made a jot of difference to me, but that was in the late 70's, I'm sure technology has improved since then! I've no needd to try them nowadays as I don't get migraines any more!

NO, I wasn't tested, but my doctor suggested I try some. I was so desperate that I was just clutching at straws.
But then I got cured .................. in a heartbeat. God bless accupuncture, (for me at least).
