What do you have and do you think they are worth it?

Im thinking either the new TM rescue or the ping i15. Anyone have one that they can share some thoughts?

Never been without one. There was one in my starter set and I have had one ever since. Have tried many but nothing has beaten my Ping G10, generally the most reliable club in my bag. I have tried the G15 (ugly and not as good as the G10 in my opinion) and various other makes. The only one that would come close was my old Orka hybrid, that used to go a seriously long way.

Just switched the 3 iron for a 20 deg hybrid, absolutely the best decision I've made, great off the tee, fairway or rough, super consistant in length and direction.

I tried the titleist but it wasn't yet available to buy when I ordered my new set, a little harder to hit than the CLK I thought, but went for miles!!

I've got a Benross 20*, and I've recently tried the Letters 16*.

Minor brands, maybe, but they both have the Aldila shaft which suits my ( slowish ) swing.

With this shaft I don't have to put my best swing on the club to get a reasonable result.

I honestly believe that the shaft is far and away the most important part of the club, and the actual manufacturer is secondary.

My Cobra Baffler is the best club in my bag, without a doubt.

I definitely think that getting a hybrid is worth it as they are just so much easier to hit than long irons, especially from tough lies. They also generally have a higher ball flight for softer landings onto the green.

Have had a TM Burner Superfast Hybrid 4 iron replacement for a year or so now. One of my favourite clubs in the bag. Have just added a Superfast 2.0 3 iron replacement and removed the 5 wood from the bag. Haven't played with it yet, but if it's half as easy to hit as the 4, then I'm in for a treat! :)

I've recently got the Titleist 910 21* hybrid and I have to say... What a club! Easy to hit, good distance and I can't believe I've left it this long to finally put one in my bag.

I'd highly recommend them, especially the 910H.

I have a 909 17 degree hybrid and it is a magic club from about 215 meters, but I am trying to resist the lure of the shiny 910 and hearing how magic it is doesn't help   :p

Brendy is a great fan of these fantastic clubs,I am sure he will be along in a minute....

:D

I've been trying out some hybrids recently and have come to the conclusion that I find it easier to hit my 3 iron. I don't know what my problem is. I just can't hit them well.

Got a rescue club and its phenomenal out the rough, still haven't got it working well off the fairway though so looking at getting the Callaway Diablo Edge fairway wood to help me with the all important 200 yard approach shot.

Looking to get a 2 iron replacement hybrid rather than a 5 wood I think.

Never hit one before so definitely a try before you buy thing. Hit my 3 and 4 irons really well so couldn't see me (at the moment) replacing those with hybrids.

I used to be sceptical but a couple of years back I tried out a Callaway 20 degree Heavenwood with steel shaft at the local range and absolutely creamed it every time. It's now a permanent fixture in the bag over the winter and is great for tee shots on our 2 shortest par 4s. Might keep it's place over the summer too this year.

I really like the extra weight of the steel shaft and it makes it feel a lot different to having either a wood or an iron in my hands, very solid but very forgiving. Does anyone else use a steel shafted one?

Mashie - I do, I've just picked up a Callaway WarBird 7Wood, which matches the 4Wood I carry, and both have the original Steel 'Memphis 10' steel shaft in.
Both these clubs are excellent, and very powerful, so much so that I can be longer with the 4 than most of the gang I play with are with their Drivers.

Dunno what it is about the Steel shaft, but just prefer it, just as I do the traditional head of the 7, rather than the 'Hybrid' stubbie shape, which really doesnt agree with me when I look down at it.

I'll still carry my 3/4 irons, but the 7 will get used when either the lie is bad perhaps, or I want a higher soft landing shot.

Simples.

To me the hybrids have got to be the"must have"club,Ive had
the TM 19 and 22 burners in my bag for 2 years, and theres
no doubt in my mind they are the most accurate club you can
buy..

Just in the process of upgrading my 909 to a 910.
Wouldn't be without one.
I've also got a Mizzy MP Fli Hi - technically a hybrid but more like a hollow cavity back club. Can hit poor ones with it (24*) but often its flawless - 195 yard carry over water and bunker, 1 bounce and stop on the 17th at Aztec's place on Sunday....
