Any decent "full wedge" vids?

I've never been a great wedge player, I do hit some nice ones but I tend to thin quite a few, specially from >90 yards in which would be my Gap or Sand wedge. Pitching wedge etc seems ok for some reason, I'm much more confident with that.
In the past I've tended to club up and do half swing type pitch shots due to my fear of skulling the living daylight out of a ball.
Any decent vids out there showing the do's and don'ts of hitting a good wedge shot?

Think in your post you have the exact thing to do - dont go 100% at it with a wedge as you will more than likely lose control of your swing - so club up and have an easy swing

Interesting, thanks mate.
I did knock my gap wedge through the green from 90 yards on Friday (I thought I only usually hit it 80 yards with a good wind), my PP mentioned I seemed to go after it a bit too much.

Wedges are more about control than distance. If your swinging all out with wedges, you'll limit your control.

I, personally, will only hit a full wedge if I need a lot of spin on the ball.

I used to hit full wedge shots all the time and it was the weakest part of my game. I now never hit a wedge with more than a 10-2 swing (so your arms go to 10 o'clock and to 2 o'clock on the follow through). Accuracy from 100 yds in has massively improved, if you need it to go further, take more club. I also find that because the contact is so much better, I get more than enough spin. Also, I like this vid from Sean Foley, good tips for getting into the left side a bit more and getting a more solid contact

Wedges shouldn't be hit flat out (imo) and are about control. If you can learn how to control distances and know how far you can hit each one with a 3/4 or half swing and how to control trajectory you'll give yourself more options and better feel. I have worked hard on my wedges from 100 yards and in and feel much more confident about controlling distances. I could be a lot better but so much better than this time a year ago

If you are thinning it then chances are you are hanging back trying to help the ball into the air. The guys are right you dont want to smash you wedges but there is nothing stopping you from doing so if you are using a decent technique.

do you take much divots with these type of shots? If not then you could try hitting down on the ball s bit more. More pros are hitting down 4 or more degrees with their short iron full shots as you describe.

Maybe try putting some weight on your lead leg and keeping it there through the swing.

Thought some food for thought rather than ''dont wack you wedge''. Some of this may be useful, none of it might. The coach must be brushing up on his own game for a change. I'm sure help you further on his return.

Again, the best way to get help is to pop a video of your swing up. Don't be shy.

As far as I'm concerned, my PW is a 10 iron.
Its from the set, the spec is to the 9 iron what the 9 iron is to the 8 so why can't it be hit like a 9 iron.
Not 100%, no club should be hit 100%, but if you hit a 9 iron with a normal swing then the PW should be no different.
That doesn't mean you can't hit 3/4 or half shots but don't limit yourself to that.

The other wedges are a little different.
Specialist wedges may have more bounce, making shots from a tightish fairway cut more tricky.
But if you have the ability - and it does take practice - there's no reason to not hit a Lob Wedge with the same swing as a 9 iron if the shot calls for it.

keep your left upper arm close to your chest and rotate the upper body in sync with the left arm, and you can 'go at it' as hard as you want.
