You are playing in a friendly fourball. You and another player are in a buggie, the other two are (through choice) walking.

Do you

A) All tee off and then "zoom ahead" in the buggie to get ready to play your next shot when ready/park up beside the green bearing in mind to keep your buggie out of the way of the other players

or

B) All tee off and then trundle along in your buggie at walking pace chatting with the other two guys between shots out of courtesy?

Personally I wouldn't have a problem if I was carrying and the buggy users went off ahead of me, as they have paid extra for the use of the buggy an they can set themselves up. The real issue would be if they still weren't close to being ready to hit their shot maybe by the time us carrying got to our shots but that's my opinion dont know if it's good or bad etiquette.

It really depends on the bantergoing in th group. I would say a bit of both and when I have been buggied up and the other team are walking we dolly along or if there is a need for us to go ahead (ball in rough/woods ect) we shoot off

Smiffy, your up at 6:40 and on here ..... your hardcore.

As Mad said, a bit of both.

One problem with Buggies is that if the two players are a bit like the red arrows, it is slower than walking. It often helps if the buggy goes ahead, and drops off one of the players at his ball, armed with suitable club, and then the driver can go over to his ball and wait over there.

It can get a bit anti social though.

And the worst is two in the buggy and one walking. Might as well play on your own. The least the other two could do is walk a bit while the other drives.

For a 'friendly' game, then if you prefer to walk then there shouldn't be a problem here. If the pair wish to razz around on a buggy, then as long as they dont run over your ball, let them crack on ahead, then find themselves waiting as you gently stroll down the fairway, taking in the sights, sounds and smells, and thinking way too much about your next shot. I have been in this situation on hols abroad and you always get to enjoy the banter on the tee and green, and in the 19th of course.

im with this, we dont tend to do buggies unless its 2 buggies. it becomes almost like two different games going on, the two in the buggie and the 2 walking

Wouldn't have a problem either way. If the other two were also in a buggy you wouldn't drive next to them would you? so I think A is the answer so long as you don't affect their shots etc. Most banter is around the tees and greens anyway as in between players who are walking are not necessarily close to each other.

Once you've finished trying to drive over one of the walker's feet and attempted to knock them over then get to your ball.

When had a 3 ball like this at Woburn last year. Two of us in the buggy and one walking. For all 36 holes

I couldn't have walked 2 holes so needed a buggy as I was exhausted though work. Can't actually remember most of the day tbh, and our other m8 had a dodgy ankle. So we both used the buggy.

We just drove along besides our other m8. We offered to split the cost of two boggies but he wanted to walk. He did say the next day he wish he hadn't.

We just trundled alongside him having a laugh, afterall it was his birthday :D

There wasn't any hurry really, nobody behind us for 2-3 holes to hold up, so wasn't a problem if it took a little extra time to play a hole.

We're going again in a few weeks and I think we're getting two buggies this time.

Had this in a competition at our place last year, 2 guys in a buggy and me walking. Was a bit lonely at times but the guy who actually needs the buggy was pretty good belting ahead looking for my ball. The other guy with him is a bit of a miserable guy so I thought I was better off to be honest.

I'm an "early bird". Always up early. I was up a lot earlier than that.
You won't see many post by me after about 9.30pm
;)

Andra, he has been known to get up even earlier with a mobile alarm call ;)

BTW "B"...

Only ever played with a buggy once, in the States, and it was compulsory. Never played with someone who used one, but imagine it would be a bit distracting, and would ruin the natural speed of play.

We have a few that use buggies on medical grounds. I have no problem with them going off in front, gives them a chance to find any balls that have been hit "wide" if necessary.

Problem you often find is that if 2 are in one buggy, that can actually slow the pace of play!
