I have been clearing out my cheap supermarket golf shirts and replacing them with a smaller number of decent ones. To date I have been spending around £20 to £25 on Nike Dri-Fit shirts and have found them to be excellent.

I then remembered a recommendation on here for Woodworm shirts (I think is was Smiffy) so bought a 3 pack of Pwerdry shirts for £24. They are superb, I cannot tell the difference in material or quality from the Nike ones, they look smart and perform really well. I will be going back for some of the striped ones next.

Thanks to whoever posted about them (Smiffy I think) and here is a link if anyone else feels like giving them a go.

Gotta agree on the quality of Woodworm shirts

Shame its another company that feels the need to rip off buyers in Northern Ireland with higher delivery charges than to other parts of the UK when in fact it costs no more:rant:

It was me indeed GB. Thanks for remembering. Have quite a few woodworm shirts too, despite not taking advantage of this particular offer a couple of years ago. Very good quality.

Smange

Why I agree with you on standard post stuff like a t shirt etc, anything set to Ireland by parcelforce, dhl, city link or any of the next day couriers costs alot more.

For example my old company had some of the best rates people have seen with Dpd, £4.65 uk data pack up to 5kg, this product not available to northern Ireland Scottish highlands or channel islands, £5,65 up to 30 kilo next day, yet northern Ireland was 48 hours and £11.00 for 30 kilo and all prices were plus vat too.

Logistical costs kill online business's especially when shipping out of the standard uk mainland

I used to work in Irish freight and there are huge cost involved. For starters the ferry costs plus haulage etc. we used to pay aprox £700-£800 per trailer. Plus then delivery costs on the otherside.

Looks a good value shirt, some say they are made larger than normal, is that the case to get a size smaller than norm?

I feel your pain mate, it's an overhead that is hitting lots of business's.

Fuel goes up
Tax goes up
Insurance goes up
Parts and labour to repair go up...

So what happens to the cost of shipping - wallop!
