Farneyman
Tour Winner
I was playing in the medal a couple of weeks ago and got cut .3 The problem was (off 18) I was 5 over to the turn (PB) and nine over with 3 holes to play. Our last 3 are par 4,4,3 and I managed to go 9,8,5.
Heres a few things I learned,
1- always have some grub in the bag to eat during a round as around 12-13 I got hungry by 16 I was v.hungry.
2- Keep track of my score at all times, during this round I knew I was playing well but wasnt keeping my own score and asked my playing partner not to tell me. I knew I was playing really well just didnt know exactly how well. Probally would have played 17 differently.
3 - Take a practice swing in the rain. It started to rain heavy on our 15th which I got par. On the walk across the road I put full waterproofs on and rushed my 16th tee shot without a practice swing. Cue lost ball and 2nd tee shot into guff which took 2 to get out of. Extra layers will mean a differnt type swing.
I also 3 putted the last three holes and knocked my approach long OOB in 17 which I have never done. It was a normal wedge to green which I nailed and it just flew.
I was just so frustrated, on one hand my swing felt the best ever for most of the round, I got a cut but the finish killed me.
On the up it shows me I am getting closer to playing better golf. All in all I am happy with my golf but cant help thinking what might have been......
