An Introduction :)

The MX950 look very appealing to me (I like the hybrid #3 & #4 irons) but I've phoned 5 local golf Pros and none of them had any in stock or even a demo club that I could try. Does anyone know where I might have more luck??

Also when it comes to the shaft should I be going for Steel or Graphite??

Steel less you are old or weak. Where are you from, my fitter is great and holds a huge amount of old stock. He also does alot of internet sales.

Pick his brain, hes a real help. Let him know you know Alex from the forum, hes knows about it. I am sure he can post to you.

Tim Jenkins is a good shop stock wise. Customer service is a little bit off sometimes (depends who you talk to) but apparetly he is very good for fitting.

Where you from then?

I'm from Co.Durham, about 10-15 mins drive from Durham City center.

I ordered an MX-200 and an MX-950 demo iron from eBay this afternoon so that should give me something to try on the range and let me see what I think. Are the new JPX-800 Irons the replacement for the old MX-1000 Irons and would they be usable by an amature like myself (more importantly, are they worth adding the extra $$$ to get them?)?

Also I know I've mainly been looking at the Mizuno Irons but if I was to increase my searching what other Brands/Clubs should I take a look at, keeping my $300 budget in mind??

Thanks again to everyone for the helpful advice and warm welcomes :)

Yes JPX are made for your standard. They are aimed at the same market as MX100/1000/200. JPX pro are maybe MX300.
