It is exercise that can follow social distancing rules, much like cycling, running and walking.Ok. I'm every doctor in the country who advises you to stay in and not play golf.
Present your argument

Only if you can walk there though. I can’t.It is exercise that can follow social distancing rules, much like cycling, running and walking.
I don’t think there’s anything in the guidelines that specifies an hour. Will it take an hour or less?
I don’t think there’s anything in the guidelines that specifies an hour.
That was a comment made by, I think, Michael Gove when asked a question. It isn’t, as far as I know, a guideline or recommendation. That’s not to say that people should spend all day cycling, but I doubt very much that anyone could be fined for going for a 2 hour walk or run.I think there is confusion as I read
''for most a walk of up to an hour, or a run of 30 minutes, or a cycle."
All of which can be done from outside your front door
No one wants to run with me anyway as I’m too slow and swear like a Victorian sex worker when going uphill ?Also,
Can I drive to do exercise?
The government advise that where possible “stay local and use open spaces near to your home where possible.”
They also advise that members of the public “do not travel unnecessarily,” whether that be to national parks or the local beach.
Can I exercise with friends?
Government advice warns that exercise can only be carried out alone or with members of your household.
This would mean, for instance, that meeting up with a running partner is off-limits.
Just remember that 'individual freedom' or 'freedom of the individual' has a far higher ranking in the minds of many in USA than 'doing the right thing for the community'!God help us if we’re going to base our decisions on what the yanks are doing.
Yes, but freedom to do dumb shyte shouldn’t be encouraged. Even if it has to be tolerated.Just remember that 'individual freedom' or 'freedom of the individual' has a far higher ranking in the minds of many in USA than 'doing the right thing for the community'!
Ask any of the ones who own a gun 'for their own/family's protection'!Yes, but freedom to do dumb shyte shouldn’t be encouraged. Even if it has to be tolerated.
ok. you are sat on your sofa when you get overcome by a carbon monoxide leak. or a car loses control and drive through your front window. you would have been fine had you been on the golf course. So you drive to the golf course, nice and safe bcause the roads are empty.
Then bonkers mental comes round the corner too fast because the roads are empty.
Police are called, ambulance is called.
You both end up in hospital taking up much needed bed space. Doctors and nurses are diverted away from dealing with virus patients and their day just got that little bit longer. You've come in close proximity to how many people?
And why?
Because you were bored with staying at home and wanted to play golf.
Next time you see a doctor or a nurse, ask them if they'd like a bit of time off on their sofa.

the chances of a car crash driving to a golf course a extremely low. but by your argument you shouldn't even walk down your stairs as you might fall. at some point risk is acceptable. I'd say driving is acceptable
its not up to you either. however, our government have not banned driving to the shop so it looks like they'll be accepting the risk associated with driving too. i said in a earlier post that I think I have very little risk playing golf but it's the knock on effects it has. I can't even go fishing on a private lake with 5 pegs that are 100 meters apart. but I understand why I can'tWith the whole world in crisis, it's not up to you to decide what's acceptable and what isn't.
The facts are you are more likely to catch/spread the virus if you mix with other people and you don't do that if you stay at home

I'm a yank (North Carolina) and you are totally correct. It's becoming clearer every day that our national government has got a clue what they're doing. Some of the governors are doing the right thing, but others are not.God help us if we’re going to base our decisions on what the yanks are doing.

Don't let the fear of covid 19 become almost as dangerous as it.
Mind is a powerful tool.
