Am officailly old

When I was at the Footjoy day, same one as Tashy was at, there were a mass of shoes to review. I was cooing over the comfy looking ones. When I realised I had a little chuckle at myself, age has truly kicked in.

Tashy do you remember the Flex shoes? We all hammered them in my group at the time, will be tough to clean was the main criticism. I now look at them and I am starting to like the look of them as they will not rub and they look comfy, like trainers. Age again :D
 
First shoes i picked up. Winter boots coz they dead comfy. 😁 but i said the heel should be wider. Comfort 1st 2nd and 3rd. Need a shoe horn to put me skechers on 😳
 
I met the Chief Executive of Skechers a couple of years ago at a golf day. When I told him I didn't own a pair he arranged for me to have a free pair of casual shoes. Most comfortable ones I own but now so scruffy I need to buy replacements. Ordered online & spot on for size
 
Sketchers aren't nice to look at whatsoever :sick:
For me, there are other comfortable shoes that aren't ugly. Each to their own. Enjoy them with your soup and no the nurses aren't stealing your things :LOL:
 
Just had a look on their website after reading this thread, they look like the trainers my mom made me have when I was kid, straight off the market.
 
On a similar theme, I had to go in to choose my first pair of glasses this evening. My eyes have been struggling and the time had come. I took my wife in to help me choose which style. Annoyingly the ones I liked didn't actually suit me at all. I put one pair on, she looked calmly at me and said, "they make you look old". Crushed 😢.
 
I had the the big Six Oh earlier this year and it starts to hit you when..
  • You sit facing a row of cars each with your age on
  • I realise I now qualify for a bus pass
  • I receive a letter from Anthony Nolan that I am being removed from their donor list
  • My year of birth is in the 50's
  • You work with people who are born in the 90's
  • So many people have never heard of ICI where I worked for 27 years.
  • Oh and I've been wearing Skechers for years. Shoes and Trainers plus golf shoes Comfort always number 1 for me.
