Am I a grumpy old man?

This I can take its bloody "children in need" I cant stand, or rather, the annual visit from two tarts with buckets when they do a collection at all the companies in the street. They weren't young when they started all those years ago, but now as 60 year olds dressed as french maids. Oh my god.

My (late) mother in law's birthday was today.

Much to her delight, and my wife's dismay, I called her an old witch - and got away with it.

One year, I found an old besom broom and gave it to MIL as a birthday present. She loved the gesture and "humour" but HID vowed never to talk to me again. Ah, bliss.

Unfortunately, that didn't last that long.

no trick or treat callers just eggs thrown at the windows. Will probably continue for another week if last year is anything to go by.

funny thing is,last night about 6 girls aged 14 - 15 dressed in their school uniforms were trick or treating came
knockin on my door, they were being a bit cheeky and having a laugh, until my missus pulled up in the car with
steam comming out of her ears..I've never seen anyone move so fast...me,upstairs,to the loo.
