My sincerest apologies Phil, I only put in bold type half of what I intended to do. 👍

What's the biggie next year? Triple quilt toilet rolls?

Well that's all down to the thoughts of the members of any golf club or what sort of decision can be deemed "big" - for some established members they were very much opposed to it hence the debate - but then every club is different and what you may think is trivial enough to dismiss others won't

I use to go religiously every year, especially when the club moved to the new course. I don't tend to both so much these days as I have faith in the directors we have and the majority of those serving on the committee and for the large part I'm happy with the direction the club is going.

went last year to raise a couple of issues i disagreed with. When it came to those votes i stood up to make my point, as it was like i suddenly became invisible. was ignored and the motions approved and 2nded by other com members.

waste of time...

same people on the committee year after year, nothing changes, any new idea's popooed, same little group controlling the club for there benefit.

Upsetting established members for the sake of young trendy upstarts doesn't sound good for moral.

The only trouble with the jeans argument is you will upset 50% of the members.
