First 3 ball for some time between CVG, Myself and Himself , playing off my new handicap of 19
I was trying out the new Callaway HEX Chrome Ball after talking with my Pro (Kevin Hughes , Berkhamsted Range)
My opening drive ( a layup before the ditch) almost went in the ditch, so that is about 10 yards further than normal.

By the 2nd hole I had won the £12 in the 2's pot

By the 9th i was up 22 - 17- 15 (CVG)

Had a blob on the 11th :(
Lost a ball on the 14th :(

Had another 2 on the 15th
Parred the last 2 holes making 12 points off the last 4 holes for a total of 42 points, 83 Gross which is another PB

Meanwhile back at the ranch...CVG took 19 off the back 9 for a very good 34 points
Himself managed, on 2 occasions, to Drive into rough and proceed to hack out into more rough, a few yards further on, needless to say he faded with 11 points on the back 9 to finish with a paltry 28

He also scored 83 gross,

My .5 ESR handicap reduction still isnt sorted

My last 5 rounds have been 87 (PB Equal), 91 (Buffer), 87, 85 (PB) 83 (PB Today). the 85 was a supp card My handicap should realistically be about 14 or 15, but todays round would only have seen a cut of 1.5.Its actually proving very hard to get the handicap down

Its hard to believe that only a few months ago I was struggling to break 90, now im on the verge of breaking 80

As for the HEX Chrome Ball, First outing very good, it is definately longer and will have to adjust slightly, but so far so good

good shooting Phil!

42 with a blob as well. think your right about the 14/15 handicap. Keep plugging away it'll drop if you keep that form up

The annoying thing is that if I was starting now and put 3 cards in That is the handicap I would get, the system just cant keep up with a rapidly improving golfer

Good scoring Phil, can I ask one question?

Was you playing of the white or yellow tees?

My last two games from the yellow pegs were 83(wed) and 82(today), todays round included two triple bogeys and 13 pars.

Good shooting buddy, I was off the Yellows but at my gaff the distance between white and yellow is only about 4 or 5 yards on average
So really doesnt make much difference

Well done Fragger - the best 19 handicapper in the World..

Hi Alex

He has turned my game around totally, and I find him really easy to get on with, His wife is very friendly too
Its true sometimes he will ask you to practise that last shot for a minute or 2 , but that would only be if he was by himself and someone was in the shop. Normally he is very attentive.

And yes if you ask him for advice about gear, he is bound to go into salesman mode, like he suggested I look at the callaway Hex Chrome balls, certainly not cheap, he reckoned id get a more penetrating flight and it would add yards, and it has . He could have suggested the Hex Black Tour balls which are more expensive and are wrong for me, He Didnt ,

Bottom line I trust the guy

See you down there one day

Thanks buddy, It would be very convinient to have lessons with him as its only 10 mins away. He was my mates pro too. Maybe I will look into it again going forward. How long you been seeing him?

Once again, great shooting!!

Great shooting a pb is so pleasing although you seem to be managing it every week at present!

Keep up the good play and hope your h/cap catches up soon. :)
