Well, the forecast for the weekend is a reasonable forecast for the whole of the country. Mostly dry and bright with fairly light winds. Well we've waited loong enough for this as the last few weekends have been fairly poor really. The past few days have been good here and I was always hoping it would last into the weekend.

Just a shame that my wife is playing both Saturday and Sunday so I'll be lucky if I even get 9 holes in on Sunday afternoon.

Hope you guys can make the most of a good weekend and get some golf in.

Nice wee course there. Should be in good nick at this time of the year. Just watch out for the midges in the long grass though ;)

Can't wait for tomorrow. Nice weather and the course is just starting to become quieter. Made some decent progress this time last year so am hoping for more of the same!

(Look out for my post on how bad my round was tomorrow afternoon!)

Good forecast with the wind dropping off from its gale force the last few days. Got a comp saturday and another sunday so hoping to get a wee cut before the season ends

Got a game at East Sussex National on Sunday afternoon having not played in a few weeks. To say I am looking forward to it is an understatement! BTW, after 3pm on a Sunday they charge £25 a bargain, although the darkness is getting ever closer........

Not a bad price at all. They weren't doing any deals a few weeks ago!
East or West?

One downside of the good weather is that until about 10 this morning you couldn't see 20 feet in front of you with fog which is going to create interesting conditions for playing tomorrow if it's the same as we're out at 8:50.

East I believe. I prefer that 18, although the driving range seems to have a magnetic attraction to my tee shot on the 1st!

A friend played a few Sundays ago and found out about that rate - apparently they don't advertise it, it's only if you ask...crazy!!

Love the course, although I suspect a greater air of superiority will drift over the staff now they are an Open qualifying venue from 2010 - I also imagine these cheap rates will be a thing of the past...£50 plus from now on :p

Looking forward to members/guest day tomorrow. 36 holes with El Bandito (otherwise known as HTL) and his 200 yard 4 iron. 4BB stableford AM and greensome stableford PM. Bacon rolls to start, buffet lunch and 3 course meal before going up to get the prizes. Smiffy will vouch for the fact that HTL has a liking for my track so quietly confident.

Playing in a 4 Ball team open at Wigan GC (Arley Hall) on Sunday morning which I am really looking forward to as it is supposed to be a great little track.
It will be nice to get a game in the sunshine with no wind for a change.

Don't be too "quietly confident" though Homer.
That's when the wheels tend to come off and it is even more difficult to get them back on and working when the added pressure of an expected good result is on your back.
HTL is capable of ripping up any course when he is on his game, and yep he played superbly at Ascot the other week (you both did to be honest). But I hear rumours on the grapevine that as nice as it is, he didn't like Sundridge very much!!
That's where this game bites you in the arse. You think you've got a chance, you have been playing well...but then it all goes out of the window at the crucial time. Relax, don't expect too much and play for two pointers. The three's will come.

;)

Norfolk had a couple of days of rain - but our course is still bone dry. Played 9 holes this afternoon and the weather was as warm as it has been all summer. I hear that Ipswich hasn't seen any rain for two months and courses there are burnt up.

Not a cloud in the sky all day yesterday and today. Shot 81 and had 4 double bogeys while trying out a new ping I15 with a supposed stiff shaft. My arse, it was like a fishing rod and everything went right, two other guys tried the same club yesterday and did exactly the same thing and thought similar too.
