4BBB Medal - acceptable for handicap purposes?

I understand that it is an unusual format but if we play a 4BBB Medal competition is that still acceptable for handicapping purposes? The gross scores can go in per hole and the system can work out stableford points, which is what is used by WHS. The results of the competition will be different using the medal format but I think that it could still count for handicaps. I can't find anything definitive in the Guidance on Handicapping, it just refers to stableford.

Using Handicapmaster, we use a template for 4BBB Medal and it automatically sets it up to count for handicapping as laid down by EG.
