I'll come back with anything you like.

And for the record I think the only thing out of order is you threatening to hit an animal with a golf club. Clearly shows you for the man you are.

You are a scary person. I didn’t threaten to hit the dog, I hit the dog, flush on the head with my putter. The man that I am.

Tommo

That is just wrong.

A putter is no good. A sand wedge is a better option, although a lob wedge might be useful if you need to knock its head up higher faster.

There does come a time, in this case no time, when you have to use whats at hand and I was on the green at the time.

Now, If I had a caddy...........

I'd place a damn good bet that there are more aggressive and problematic young offenders in East Lothian than there are aggressive and problematic dogs.
Maybe you should start a one man vigilante squad to go round and clean your streets of all these problems Tommo ?

Personally, for some reason, I tend to judge human beings by their attitudes to animals, whether cats or dogs or whatever it may be.
Its usually spot on too.

Actually Tommo to be fair a lot of what you said (this thread at least) made sense and TBH I had to unblock you to see what all the fuss was about. Great to see a feisty old ding dong and a pleasant change to be on the outside looking in for once

Thank god you're not a judge then eh. The youngsters in my area are not too bad. East lothian I dont know but you could well be right, but we're not talking about that are we.

Oh, I tend to judge animals by their attitude to humans. It is safer, trust me.

You see, why should anyone move for a dog. Anyway, these things happened over the years. Still hate em.

Don't move because of the dogs Tommo, move because it sounds like you live in the middle of Beirut. On second thoughts, as you think it is acceptable to hit an animal with a golf club, perhaps you fit right in with the rest of the Pikeys on your council estate.

What a man!!?? Idiot.

Well well, Homers unblocked me, just for this thread though.

Tommo. Just think of all that good humoured banter and repartee he has missed :)

He probably has blocked me as well so he may not see this post either.

Good point Tommo, there must be a damn good reason all these dogs are choosing your gaff to relieve themselves against, not to mention take a bite out of you at every opportunity, they are very obviously good judges of character perhaps, and perhaps it is 'they' that feel threatened by you ?

In my 47yrs, I've owned Dogs, always had time for Dogs, and always trusted Dogs, and have never let down by one, let alone been bitten by one, Period.

Sadly, I cant say the same for some of the Humans I've crossed paths with.
Good job you dont live near me......
Mind you, I dont think that sounds very likely to happen.

Excellent a 'Thommo Tear Up'........I am right behind you my man,I hate dogs with a passion, not only do they bite but they stink.
If one came toward me with a threatning look I too wouldn't hesitate to defend myself by any means I could.Would never dream of hurting an animal for no reason but wouldn't think twice if it was to defend myself.
Got bitten by a Rhodesian Ridgeback as a kid,it attacked me cos I had the cheek to be running along the path outside the garden it was in.....hated the horrible things ever since.

Good wee article there, a little personal but yes it's acceptable to hit a dog, under exceptional circumstances like it's acceptable to shoot a dog....dont forget that little bit of important information. Me and me alone will decide what threat I'm faced with. What estate do you live in then old chap. :D

Wow, another wee swipe there. Your glad you don’t live near me....Not half as much as me. Anyway, I’m genuinely happy in all your 47 years that you’ve not had any trouble with dogs. I suppose I could be making this up, but my other half wouldn’t have it and she still loves the ass licking gits.

Typical eh, I’m faced with a big mother of a dog bounding towards me and Dodger is right behind me. With mates like that who needs a dog. :D :D :D

Actually, in hindsight, we should end this thread, its getting a bit personal and I'm not happy about that, and I apologize for my own postings.

Lots of points, good & bad, but the main story is the true thing, and terribly sad and upsetting that is.
It does sound like there will be some repercussions for the family concerned, but none of which will bring that poor little lad back.

*shakes head*

All dogs must have a tag with a serial number and the address. All dog owners must have a dog licence, it will cost £100. Cant afford the licence, don’t get the dog. No collar with ID tag and the dog will be destroyed. Reduced licence rates for certain breeds and certain age of owners. No one can get a licence under the age of 25.

Seems fair enough to me. Dogs ought to be licensed and chipped, so if a chipped dog does anything the owners can't get away with it.

I happen to like dogs and have had a few. My Border Collie was attacked by another dog (of indeterminate aggressive-type breed) and I had put myself in the way to split them up. Sadly, a tiny dog once came and started sniffing around my child (baby in a pram) and my dog attacked that dog, and I had to do the same. Both times I was bitten, cut up and generally battered and bruised.

Dogs are dodgy, a careful owner will never let the dog escape or off a lead except (like I did) in a huge area free from people and animals (such as sheep, which my dog would "bother" given half a chance).

Having seen all my dogs (and family dogs) play peacefully with toddlers and grannies alike, I find them great animals to have around. Would I trust any of them unattended or lose around children? No.

I was in a rough pub once and a huge guy tied his dobberman/roweiller cross to a lampost outside, came in and started pouring pints and nips down. A wee while later a pathetic, weedy man came in. He had obviously never been in a pub in his life, and in a sheepish voiced asked, "Does anybody in here own the dog outside?" to which the big guy replied "Why?" "Because my dog's just killed it. I'm sorry." the nerd replied. "What do you mean, your dog killed it?" the giant growled, "That dog is the fiercest dog in the area it's won many dog fights, what kind of dog do you have?" "A toy poodle." he replied. The big guy couldn't believe what he had heard and looked the wee guy in the face asked "How the Hell did your poodle kill my huge dog then, that's not possible?" The wee guy looked up and replied... "It got stuck in your dog's throat."

Funny, I heard that a woman in Florida beat up a tiger with a golf club the other night. (Might be hearsay though) :D

I was in a pub in North London once, whan some local hard nut came in with his pit bull and a milk crate. While he drank his beer, the dog just dismantled the milk crate, bite by bite, and then ran around biting the bar stools. Drink up lads, we're leaving. If that was considered normal behaviour, I was definately in the wrong pub. The landlord never said a word.
