Hi Guys. Looking for 36 hole events this summer. We have a regular group that has one big away trip per year, all between 5-9handicap, so no ballot events applicable.

We're looking for any events in Scotland between June-August outside of Aberdeenshire.

Regulars in the past are Kirriemuir, Royal Dornoch, Lossie, Alyth, Ballater and Boat of Garten.

We don't really want to go to Edinburgh area, and 200 miles form Aberdeen would be the limit.

Any suggestions welcome.

Thanks

For Opens go to Scottish Golf Union website and click on Open competitions. I'd say this is the best way to find events to enter.

Montrose is too close to home, and we've played there regularly, really we're looking for something new.

Aye, found this today, although not all clubs events listed yet as it's still ealry. Looking for a heads up for clubs that have an annual event so we can get organised.

check with ur club `open application forms ` sit beside our notice board, probably same with ur club ....
Aye we do, but only Aberdeenshire, and the odd one from further afield.

Basically looking for anything that doesn't get covered by the P&J golf calendar

Played it when I was a student, fairmorn. Began my golf in Nairn. Was a four day back then, though.

Lost in the semi to one of these incredibly annoying guys who slices everything but knows exactly where it's gonna land every time. Think I won a TPM putter. Not played the course in a while. Still as nice?

1985 or 6 maybe, fairmorn.

Have played in the Nairn Dunbar 4/5 day regularly since, though got my flat broken into when I was up there last year... so am giving it a miss this year for the first time in a while.

Managed to win the high and low handicap section in that in consecutive years around that time. Highlight of my golfing "career" :D

Time for a bump for this summer as we didn't find anything last year.

Looking perhaps around the Glasgow area, 36 holer on a Saturday from late July to end August.

Might also do around Dundee or Perth.
