300 plus club

I was on our 9th green yesterday & had just finished putting when my partner said to me "look where that guys drive finished" There was a ball about 1 yard in front of the green, as I turned away I heard another ball land about 2 yards to the side of the 1st one.

I was a bit annoyed that they hadn't given me time to fully clear the green, but I was seriously impressed with there driving. The hole is a 349 yard par 4

While we were waiting on the next tee, they did apologise, turns out it was a 4 ball made up of 2x hackers like me, 1x player off scratch & the other playing off 2.

And the two drives were from the two hackers.

I drove the 407 yd 8th at Dunblane last year with a light breeze() behind and I was still slightly drunk so I'm sorry guys but I think I'm too good for this club...:ears:

Can I be in it? I have done it once on our 15th last summer, the fairways were hard and there was a tail wind but I did only have 161 to the centre of the green on a hole measuring 478yds. It was an easy par from there :D

Done it a couple of times, neither legit.

360 in a howling tail-windup 18 at Luffness New.

Drove the 4th at Huntercombe (325) when the fairways (but not greens!) were frozen. And I'd mistaken the route and was playing it as the 17th!

Not really interested in the huge ego driving thing. Wouldn't mind a few extra yards but pretty much optimised for my swing speed so will stick to 245 straight! Now how do you hit a green in reg? :mmm:

Did it on TW12 - does that not count. I don't think I'm in any danger of joining that particular gang anytime soon. I think I max out about 280 once a year, downwind, down hill with planetary alignment and its gravitational pull

I nominate myself.

It's amazing what can be achieved with a 9 degree big bertha about 15 years ago on a rock-hard fairway.

Anyone that wants to join the club, go and play Goring and Streatley. The 17th hole, par 5, is down the side of a mountain, and anything less than 300 yards is a miss hit.

I drove the 344 yard 18th at Wycombe Heights with a 3 wood.

Mind you it does drop about 150 feet in 344 yards......:ears::clap:
