Anybody fancy joining myself and James,(JustOne).
Tee time 12.30, cost £19.

It's flat, not that long, with water and ditches to catch you out if you're not accurate. :(

Since my last name is Hassack then maybe I should come and play my namesake course.... Unfortunately I'm unavailable for a few weeks with work so have to give it a miss. Next time maybe :)

Sorry mate. No can do this time.
:( :(

I've lost way too many brownie points recently to risk missing Sunday dinner this week - particularly with a long weekend away with the "boys???" at Forest Pines next w/end.

That's a shame Roger, would have been good to see that left arm swing of yours. :) :)
And of course with your mature years of life and marriage, you know where your bread's buttered. :D :D

So, no takers for a round tomorrow at Hassocks?

Sadly, I'm heading north tomorrow. Not that Hassocks brings back great memories. I played cricket there years ago - I was running backwards to catch a ball that might have gone for "6"; I got it just within the ropes, then fell backwards into a huge metal wicket roller. I don't know if they scored the "6" but I remember the ambulance ride...... :(

Ouch, but at least you were "compos mentis", and are still around to tell the tale. :)
And just in case you do decide to revisit Hassocks, there are no such obstacles on the golf course! :)

Just to say thanks to James for a really enjoyable afternoon of golf. For someone to only shoot 5 over on a course not played before is no mean feat! He won of course, with 36 points, myself with 31 :( And one of our members joined us who went round with 30 points.

Highlight of the day was James 70yd chip in - for an eagle I think, mind you, he talked it all the way in!!

Hopefully he enjoyed it enough to come back and play it again. :D

Thanks for the tips James, and now just waiting for the invite up to Copthorne. :D

There's a few unexpected ditches and ponds lying around your place to damage anyone's card first time out ( and 2nd, and 3rd times too ).

I bet you warned him about the 9th, didn't you?

Also, how are the bunkers atm?

The 9th hole 287yds Par 4 - I drove the green and then proceeded to 3 putt for par

Thanks for the game Chris (and Rob), it was a pleasure. I like having the opportunity to hit a few long(ish) drives. Next time I'll bring a putter with me that actually works! I think Rob definitely had the 'good behaviour putter', and I thought both of you played extremely well, I'll not mention the 10 that spoilt your card.... Ooops! I've gone and mentioned it :p

I hung around for a while afterwards on the putting green and seemed to hole everything I looked at, which is feckin' typical!

I can't deny it, the hole out on the 8th was a peach,
they don't go in if you don't talk to them! :D

I'm just working on your shopping list Chris.... GPS device, square driver,.... Rosie.....

I'm up for another game anytime you're ready :)

<<thumbs up>>
James.

Yeh, but I didn't realise the right hand bunker cut in so much across the face of the green as you can't see it properly from the tee...it appears my playing partners 'accidentally' forgot to mention it ;)

Even after playing there 100's of times the ponds and ditches still catch you out I can assure you. :(

We did mention the bunkers left and right, plus the other behind the left one. As this hole is regarded as a lay up for regulation par,(well for us mere mortals it is) it didn't occur to me about the bunker on right cuts across the front of the green. That's my excuse anyway :)

The bunkers are still work in progress and are a lot lot better than they were. Some of the worst ones have been taken out completely, and the reconstructed ones have had new sand put in, but as so often happens there never seems to be enough.

How many times have you played there Clive, and how recently?

Re the shopping list James, that's very nice of you mate, I'll have the GPS and the driver the same as yours - thankyou very much. :D :D :D
