Just got an email from the club and my h/cap is 25 :D May sound high but I'm delighted. Been playing for about 9 months now so hoping to progress from here.

Get some lessons from your Pro!! Not to many because it will be brain overload and then practice like mad 2 get the things u were taught blueprinted on your Brain!! And then have some more until u feel confident enough to work on your own game!!

Just starting my 2nd season, my advice would be to not worry too much about your handicap coming down (or going up for that matter), just get out in the comps and enjoy the golf and the company.

Last year I was getting myself far to anxious during the comps and was shooting 10+ strokes over what I expected. This year, being more relaxed about the whole thing is proving to be far more rewarding both in terms of enjoyment and scoring! :)

Got to start somewhere and so the onus is on you now to work hard at it and get it down to where you want it to be
single figures would be nice :D
Seriously though, chuffed with that and maybe if I get to 21 by the end of the year would be great.

I've been remiss in not congratulating you on stepping on the road to wherever it is a h'cap takes your golf and ambition.
(lost for words)
I can just about remember getting my first h'cap.....I was over the moon, just to have a target made SO much sense.

It took me quite a long time to play to it (they had turned a few 8s and 9s into 6s!!) but once I did, I was hooked.

Something went wrong somewhere down the line, but that's for a different thread.

Congratulations. :)
