I don't think you realise how good the tour pros are! A stat I heard (on here maybe, so pinch of salt required...), was that the difference between a tour pro and a scratch golfer was the same as the difference between a scratch golfer and an 18-handicapper! I read about a question posed to John...
On the bright side, because of my little angels waking up so bloomin' early, I can arrive at the course just as they're opening up, have the practice range to myself, warm up properly and still tee off at 0730 feeling fresh as a dasiy because I've already been up for 2 hours!!!
(N.B. works...
On a recent sojourn to Afghanistan, I watched a guy in Kandahar hit tennis balls with what looked like a 7 iron off a piece of astro turf.
It must have been about 35 degrees, but his swing looked really smooth!
That's proper dedication for you!
Get the best loft on your driver that works for you. My driver is a 13.5 degree because I obviously do something in my swing that de-lofts the club. So, to get a good launch angle I need a high loft. It gets it 250-260 yards minimum with the odd one pushing 300 (downhill, following wind etc...
There's nothing geeky about planes!
How about this for a company car:

60 tons, 20,000 horsepower, 250mph at 250 feet - queen of the skies!!!
I have a similar situation to Brom, i.e. I am often on call and keep the phone on vibrate. Being on call is the perfect opportunity to get on the golf course, as, for me, I'm rarely called out.
The mobile phone situation calls for rules whereby they can be interpreted sensibly, such that...
Out of interest, do you carry, trolley or buggy?
I tend to carry at the mo because I feel guilty that I'm 32 and the only excercise I get is golf!
Saying that, after a round I'm kn*ckered! Is golf supposed to be a game of stamina?!?
I'm in a similar position: I currently use MX-17s and want to wait till my handicap improves from its current 20 before I upgrade. However, those MX-200s do look lovely!
I notice you're from Wilts. If you can get to the M4 J19/M32 J1, you'll be able to try them out at The Hambrook Golf Range if...
Know exactly how you feel!
I've been shooting high 30's low 40's points-wise in the last couple of months after some lessons and time to practice and feeling good about my game. So much so that, as it sounds with you, a few over your handicap, particularly when SSS is factored in, and you're...
Hi there,
Well, whilst we're making introductions, this seems like as good a time as any to introduce myself as well.
I'm 31 and play at The Manor House, Castle Combe in Wiltshire. I took the game up last year after getting one too many injuries playing football. Hasn't taken me long to get...
