I think the rule change will help the longer hitters on tour. I've seen many tour players not go as long as they could because it's harder to take the 'right' amount of spin off their next shot when playing a shorter pitch. With less spin being generated it will give the green light to go...

My club are quite flexible with single players...plug the ipod in and relax! I play some 'negative scramble' with two balls, it makes you sharper for your next round. It's also the best conversation I get all week as I live with all girls :)

The general consensus is that lengthening the hole will spoil things. If changes have to be made, why not do the opposite and bring the tee forward 100 yards and let the big boys try and stop their drive on the green...risk and reward at its best :) ...it would be good viewing on day 4 if...
