We'd like to take this opportunity to wish you a Happy Holidays and a very Merry Christmas from all at Golf Monthly. Thank you for sharing your 2025 with us!
I’m not sure what you’ve been watching but that’s some statement given the event that we’ve just witnessed. Argueably the most scenic venue on the current rota, the biggest crowds (apart from St.Andrew’s) on the rota and a course universally praised by all the pros. Scoring was pretty low...
I played it with a member a few days after the last Open there in 2019. It was a beautiful day, the stands were still in place and the course was pristine. From memory it cost me £15 😮, now that’s what you call a bargain.
Royal Portrush ready for the Open 2025. New 5* hotel in the foreground, Portrush town in the background. It looks a flat track but certainly isn’t. Hope we get the weather and a bit of a breeze to make it interesting.
If you do manage to park in Portrush town it’s only a 15 minute walk to the course. I’m not sure how you get in though as last time I think they issued passes to residents only.
If the previous Open at Portrush is anything to go by if you’re coming from Belfast there is a park and ride facility(well signposted) a couple of miles from the course. It worked well last time, the buses are frequent and drop you off almost at the entrance. The park and ride costs £17.

Royal Portrush £385, Royal Co.Down £425. We played Portrush with a member for £15 in the week after the 2019 Open. The stands were still in place and the weather fantastic for there, what a bargain😮.
Just finished Sugar on Apple+, real “noir” feel to it with a couple of interesting twists. Colm Farrell is on top form and it really is worth a watch. One of those where series 2 must be in the pipeline.
Our Captain’s Day was on Saturday when we had around 230 out. Traditionally it’s the biggest day of the year, ball plus drink and burger voucher given to each member on the 1st tee, BBQ at the 9th, full prize presentation, dinner and dance in the evening. Great day it has to be said even if my...
