    TGL

Back to TGL, It could strike a chord, non or new golfers wont be used to the tosh we all are used to of watching a swing and then waiting in mystery to see where the camera looks for it to land. The new generation is more than used to watching computer games, the youtube lot get more views in...

At what point does a membership become value for money?

Also depends how much you think a round is worth. If it was £2000 to join augusta but you could only play once a month, its a different proposition than £2000 at the airport golf/footgolf club, even if you could play twice a week...

At what point does a membership become value for money?

This is an excellent point. Ive never thought twice about golf memberships, I get my moneys worth easily. But they point GB72 made above that the membership started feeling more like a duty, than an opportunity reminds me of how a few other subscriptions/clubs have made me feel in the past...

    Gender Free/Neutral Tees

Nah makes no sense to me that way. That would be like making the womens 100m only 80m long so they had an equal number of sub 10 second runners. Scratch means you shoot near par, if you cant, then youre not. If a short hitting bloke goes up a tee, the rating changes, he cant just become a...

    Gender Free/Neutral Tees

Yes, one system, is all thats required, the golf ball or course has no opinion on why, who or what is driving it 180, 250, or 350yards. Its set up as a challenge to everyone, why a handicap system needs changed to account for what reproductive organs you have is a total mystery.

    Alterations to WHS?

Well, aside from obvious fool jokes, its the start of the season for most UK clubs, so maybe a few weeks earlier might have ironed out some bugs....

    Alterations to WHS?

This has already been picked up at a local course, certain players who blobbed a hole, entering 'did not play' rather than 'played but did not score'. Both versions show zero points, but one counts the hole as a nett par for your handicap and the other nett double.... As stated before, most...

    Alterations to WHS?

I have, you asked the EGU for a book and it came a couple days later, explained exactly how it worked, gave you a good understanding of how css was likely to move during comps depending on field make up, in the old days it was useful to manage your handicap if the system wasnt updated between...

    Alterations to WHS?

Pretty sure you can, you just need a 'good' reason. What counts as a 'good' reason is up to your handicap committee...

    Alterations to WHS?

Ridiculously, Ridiculously, expected score is nett par. So if you shoot the lights out for 10 holes then walk in, you get nett par for the remaining holes... I think they might say its 1 over nett par for the remaining holes, but still , I'd say it's open to abuse...

    Alterations to WHS?

100% comps - normally over 100 players. Very few of my practice rounds would be eligible thanks to numerous balls in play, general disregard for the rules in favour of experimentation, tomfoolery, fun....

    Alterations to WHS?

Interesting note on a related article saying the new (2023) pcc calculation was supposed to affect around 10 percent of scores. No idea how this is calculated obviously, but its currently on zero of my last 20, which lasts about the last 3 months...

    2023 Professional Golf thread

Even in the best most mathematically perfect case, youre still only proving how a lpga player on a 6500 course compares to a pga tour player on a 7000 course... For me it should be like tennis, same venue, different comps, best would be like pebble pro am where the first days are on 'other'...
