We have a winter membership scheme, £150 for 5 hours per week from the start of October to the end of March. I took that option.
I think it’s £15 per hour for members if they want to rent it.
It’s a Trackman launch monitor so a complete bargain.
Current visitor rates are £30 weekday and £35 weekend so that would be 25 or 22 rounds. Can't remember what the rate was during the summer but it probably wasn't much more. Think I play over 60 rounds a year so definitely get my monies worth.
Had a quick look at the trolley today and it’s a 2017 model. Today the left wheel turns when off the ground but the right doesn’t and the axle isn’t turning either. When on the ground neither wheel turns.
When taking the wheels off the left axle is pulling about 4 inches out of the frame so I...
Poor form continued today on the front 9 but luckily it was a game of doubles and me and my partner dovetailed OK to only be 1 down at the turn with neither of us playing that well. We played better on the back 9, we shot a combined -4 (2 birdies each and no bogeys) and turned the match around...
Hit it well off the tee but my short game was garbage. 3 3 putts and 4 putt for good measure. Not the greens fault, they are unbelievably good for this time of year and the weather this week, just one of those weeks where I forgot how to putt.
The 9th green did start to have standing water on...
I've done this before. I had a left over roll of artificial grass from a DIY job, it's probably about 8 foot long and 4 foot wide. I put that down and did some speed training and it still tore the ground to bits if its soft. During the summer it wasn't bad, I had that down and hit off a mat into...
Usually chuck the balls in the air and 4BBB matchplay. Losers buy the pints.
If we are down to 3 we’ve just played stableford with the lowest buying the pints.
If down to 2 just matchplay and again loser buys the pints.
It’s been an expensive month for me.
Yep, why I said it seems like a lot of work.
I do Aimpoint and I normally only do 2 reads on long putts, one about halfway and one about 3 quarters. On putts under 10 foot I usually only do one read about 3 foot from the pin.
Same here. Loads on the tee sheet took their names out due to the forecast I guess but we checked this morning before going out and it looked fine. Great morning, hardly any wind and not even that cold. Course is on the Dunes layout due to 11, 13 and 14 fairways being wet but still on fairways...
Would be helpful for those that do Aimpoint.
Would only be able to use it in a practice round though but you can also just plonk your phone down during a practice round as well. I guess the Bluetooth and app is useful for those that want to map their greens.
Doubt I’d get one though, seems...
I check the team result but that's because I play with guys that are on the team so I'll ask them how their games went. Before playing with them I never bothered with the team results.
Twice a week normally between the clock changes (April to October), one at the weekend and one typically a Wednesday evening.
Once a week during winter but also spend 2 evenings on Trackman so can play a round on that if I wanted to.
Member of a club and working typical office hours.
Current place has full greens on my whole time here but I’ve heard the new course manager wants temps on if frosty this winter. Doesn’t make sense to me as the greens are rock hard during the summer anyway.
Last place had temps on way more than main greens through the winter be it for a slight...
