What's your handicap goal for 2010?

I thought my 19 H/C was great then a little optimistic so next year I'm going to knuckle down and try and get below 15, in my head 10 would be nice. No, dammit, 10 it is!!!

    Trion-Z bracelets

Oh, and think of this, if you do suffer from some sort of joint pain, don't you think medical advice would be better sort instead of wearing a bracelet which could exsasipate things in the future?

    Trion-Z bracelets

I've seen this type of thing on fuel lines on cars, aligns the molecular particles in the fuel so it burns cleaner - petrol seems to have been burning fine for the last 100 years so I don't think a magnet is going to improve anything. Got a sore shoulder, see a physio.

getting into golf at age 25

I first picked up a golf club last August, railed the driving range and local par 3 nine-holers, took a couple of lessons, joined my current club in July and posted a H/C of 19 all at the tender age of 39. I put loads of hours in and played almost every weekend and I'm still learning. Will I be...

Can't transfer range calmness to course

All excellent advice gratefully received, thanks guys.

Can't transfer range calmness to course

Kid2 I couldn't agree with you more. The guys I've played with, with the exception of one, have all hit duff tee shots and shots during the round. I whole-heartedly agree with you that there is always someone worse than me but at the moment that someone IS me. I think once I get the hang of...

Can't transfer range calmness to course

I suppose I also feel 'pressured' into taking my shot, not intentionaly by anyone but myself. I've been playing golf for a little over a year, had no interest in it prior to this, was very fortunate enough to get a good set of clubs and now I'm playing a game of which I know nothing and everyone...

Can't transfer range calmness to course

I suppose I have some sort of pre-shot routine but the more I think about it the less structured it is. I suppose it could be broken down into: 1)Oh my God which tee do I use, 2)don't aim for the pin, anything within 30ft is OK, 3)I've got 3 pairs of eyes boreing their way into my skull, don't...

Can't transfer range calmness to course

As posted yesterday I had a shocker so it was off to the range to try and fathom out what was going in my pea-sized brain. Got talking to the Pro about maybe an MOT lesson, showed him my grip and swing and lo and behold - I was striking the ball beautifully. He says just put it all down to...

    Basic winter rules of golf

So to go back to the top of the thread, I was probably (subject to no local rule) in the right to pick-up my ball and clean it? I guess the the no-brainer is to pop into the Pro shop before a comp and clarify things in there, if anyone has any disputes during the round we can go back in before...

    Basic winter rules of golf

I spoke to the pro at local range who also said I could lift and clean a plugged ball. Speaking of local rules, on the board next to the 1st tee it not only gives pin positions but also what must be the local rules - I'll drop-by later to have a quick look. Wouldn't it be a good idea for club...

Viscount, what does 'through the green' mean?

    Basic winter rules of golf

OK, so that is ANYWHERE on the course, fairway and rough included? Am I right about picking-up and cleaning your ball on the fairway? Mark it with a tee, pick-up and clean and put it back within ROUGHLY 6"?

    Basic winter rules of golf

I'm asking this as I had to diequalify myself form a comp for picking balls up from the rough to clean them. My misunderstanding arose from the belief that I can pick a ball up on the fairway to clean it and that if the ball is in casusal water in the rough I can pick a better lie within 6...

    golf insurance

I've just taken a policy out a couple of days ago, thinking along the lines of Homer, firstly in case I clack someone and secondly in case all my stuff gets nicked.
