So I was right, phew that’s a relief
You’re irritated that an expat has an opinion/view on UK matters (regardless if they’re right/wrong) that’s absolutely fine and you’re obviously entitled to hold that irritation
But as an expat I too have opinions/views on UK matters and I’m not really very...
Pity we can't share it out. I played last weekend and we've plenty scorched areas that could do with a drop of the wet stuff. More than once I had a fairway lie that was off bare ground or dead/dormant grass
We've had rain, just not enough at right times
Sorry guys I feel like I have to re-state the post I replied to
Nothing there about the rights or wrongs of the opinion/comment. Just that he's crying about the UK while living overseas. So its either irritating to Phil because the fella lives overseas or because he is Ratcliffe.
I (perhaps...
Can't disagree, I actually haven't even fully read what he said beyond the headline. My post wasn't about what he said, just a wee rebuttal that he could say anything (right or wrong). That's why I initially said 'leaving his comment aside'
Which is my point really
I don't currently work in UK but for decades I did, and paid tax. Phil reckons that means no opinions from me on UK matters until I move back
look, we can quibble about how many millions he's personally paid in tax. He has a vast personal wealth that the tax on earnings wasn't paid by his companies
Your sole point in post #63349 was that he shouldn't 'cry' because he now lives in monaco
I disagree
I get that, just saying if i'd paid hundreds of millions in tax in the UK before moving overseas i'd like to think i'd still be entitled to my opinions
(even if its not wholly agreed with)
Leaving aside his comment, it looks like he was paying something like 100million a year in tax before he went to monaco, if true it seems like a decent contribution from an individuals (UK) career
Yeah I tend to stick with the UK creators and think they still have more relevance for me
Cant be doing with Good, Grant etc etc etc, all just way too ‘ladish’ (even Brysons ‘break50’ isn’t doing it for me anymore) I’d rather watch the ‘bogey golf’ lad hack it round off his high handicap, he has...
Thanks for that, I did wonder if that aspect of playing two balls was still in effect after the raft of 2019 changes
What’s the kind of scenario where a player might ‘claim’ the ball that carries the higher penalty option? Why wouldn’t they always claim the ball with fewer/no penalty strokes...
