I voted for Links but I'm happy with anything on the same sort of well draining sandy soil eg Royal Worlington etc.
I'm not averse to trees, just courses that could be put to better use as paddy fields. Being sprayed in the face with mud every time that use hit a wedge is not my idea of fun.
I'd just like to add my thanks to Virtuocity for organising the competition and to the rest of the players for making it a pleasant way to spend an afternoon on the course.
Good luck to ger147 at Hillside. I'm sure that you will do the Scots proud.
Muirfield
St Andrews - Old/New/Eden
Crail, Balcomie
Lundin
Leven
Montrose
Brora
Traigh
Royal Jersey
Scotscraig
Castle Stuart
Also Criagielaw, Crail - Craighead and St Andrews - Castle all of which are man made links.
My favorite would be Brora.
Agreed.
There have been many column inches in GM over the last few years regarding the views of the TH boss on "improving golf". Last year he was wanting to make the hole bigger.
We would do well to remember that companies such as TM have only one aim - to sell more clubs/balls/clothes...
The 7 day switch is not actually 7 days. When you ring them to start the switch they will send you a load of paperwork to read. You need to ring them to say that you have received it and it will then be 7 'working' days from then or longer if you choose.
I played in a comp yesterday with a chap that had what can only described as 'a mixed bag' that would have been rejected by many a charity shop.
The bag itself was a reasonably modern (within the last 5 years) Nike stand bag. His Driver and 3 wood were Taylormade Burner Supersteel from 1999...
I was with Lloyds for 33 years but swapped to First Direct last month.
I signed up for the new account online which only took a couple of minutes then called them to arrange the transfer. The transfer takes about 10 working days and all the S/O's and DD's transferred across with no bother...
The best article that I have seen in relation to slow play is this one:-

It is a system that works regardless of if you are the first out or last. The slow players are easy to spot and re-educate.
The type of questions make a difference. I get really pee'd off by questions that are worded in such a way as to get the answer that they want to hear rather than the truth.
Keep your eyes on ebay for a JPX800 iron. Even if it has the wrong shaft it is not too expensive to get it reshafted with the correct spec. Don't buy one that has a graphite shaft though as these have a different bore in the hosel and are weighted differently.
One question that has not been...
Mizuno's fitting cart uses special adapters on the shafts and hosels so that they are all interchangeable. When a new model comes out they just get the new heads.
