Have to be honest, I really don't get these 'look at me' threads whether they are for good or bad performances. Just leads to a load of pointless backslapping or 'chin up mate' comments.
I'd rather read something with a bit more substance to it.
Do you live close to the course? If it involves a bit of travel then it wouldn't be my first choice, I would go for Hankley then Liphook first. But if it's right on your doorstep then it's not a bad place to slum it
Is this a competition or friendly game? Even in a competition you are allowed to ask your opponent questions. If for example you have to drive over a hill, you are entitled to ask if there are any bunkers or water over there. You can ask factual questions like this but you can't ask for advice...
I doubt your handicap would be any lower. You still have to get the ball in the hole. And what you gain in some areas you more than lose in others like tough pin positions, longer courses etc.
Re: Scotland Trip May 2012 (Dundonald, St Andrews New & Old, Turnberry Ailsa)
What green fee for the Ailsa are you basing that on, a winter rate or hotel rate? As far as I know the summer rate for Turnberry is £150+
Kingsbarns is cheaper than some of the Open venues.
Well good luck with that! I have a 60* and I seldom try to hit that 60 yards, way too inconsistent. When you get that much loft on a club it is far too easy to slide underneath and pop it straight in the air.
Seriously mate, these sort of clubs are not designed to be hit flat out.
