Watney is one of the most exciting players in the world to watch. When he's on form he can tear a course apart. Despite his meltdown on the Sunday of last years USPGA he is my tip for this years Masters.
Thats the most ridiculous rule i've seen in golf. It's bad enough you can't ground your club in a bunker because you would be testing the sand, surely when you walk into the bunker your feet 'test' the sand anyway. But to be penalised two shots for hitting a leaf in your backswing in a bunker...
More to the point I'm a Face-Balanced kinda Guy. With a toe heavy putter - Anser/Zing style - I can feel the toe coming round at a vast rate of knots sending my stroke all over the place. A face-balanced mallet just keeps my stroke together.
Is there anyway of telling if a putter is face/toe...
I don't know much about the k15 irons but you can't go wrong with Ping if you ask me. I've got G10 irons and they are the best golf purchase i ever made, very easy to use even when your swing is having an off day. I think the the K15 are even more forgiving so as i've already said you wont go to...
I have been looking at those putters myself, the 001 model to be more specific. They look great although havent had a chance to try them out.
The putter i have a the moment is the style i want but will be upgrading at Christmas, assuming Santa brings me those vouchers i asked for :D.
Just seen a piece on GM's homepage about choosing a putter and i'd like to know people's views here. Do you prefer a blade or mallet type putter?
Personally, after a bit of trial and error, i've decided blades are the way to go for me. When i started playing i was using a Fisher blade putter...
I use Ping yellow dot G10 irons, best clubs i've ever used and i'd put a lot of that down to the fact that i was fitted correctly. If you use an authorised Ping custom fitting service you wont go far wrong.
As i am very happy with my irons i wont be putting my name in the hat but i have to say that's one heck of a prize! Good luck to everyone that entered!
As it was a friendly i think you did the right thing and let it go but if it was a competitive match with something at stake i would've penalised him. How did he react when you told him?
