Best way is join up to the club, then you can take part in the weekly comps, just get your 3 cards signed (even if it's stableford you just play strokeplay) - then they will give you your handicap and off you go rfom there.....

Hi, Thanks for the response, and yep agree sometimes I try to get a bit too confident and go for the full distance as opposed to dropping the 10yards and accepting the outcome, I suppose that's where the course management and knowing your strengths and weaknesses come into play.
