Yes, lots of visitors and societies throughout the week. Members are not offered a discount and have always been flatly refused when asked.

Thanks for your comments. Unfortunately, we are only allowed to use prize money of any kind in the pro shop.

Moreover, I'd be surprised if this pro shop was responsible for many of the bills you list. It's part of the main building. As for the assistants wages, er, I doubt it.

Thank you. However, it's not a case of me agreeing or even disagreeing. I understand a lot more from the replies to the thread with the most relevant and important being the fact that prices must be displayed. This is essentially the root of ther problem.

Thanks for responding. The issue I raised relates to member relations as much as seeking a broader perspective. Knowing what others paid and then being asked to pay 20% more I find a bit of an insult apart from the principle of doing so.

Thank you for taking the time to reply, but I must take issue with ther strange answer regarding price rises. Prices rise when the supply costs increase. This is stock and therefore nothing to do with supply or any other impact. But thank you for your other views.

All the items in our pro shop do not have prices on them. If you win any money from the comps, you can only spend it in the pro shop. I asked our pro for a price on some clothes with the club logo on. However, each item was £5 more than what other members paid just a few weeks earlier. While it...

    Walking off after abuse

This was just a club comp and I had played with him before. I had noticed some issues before, (see previous answers), but none that would make me realise an issue, prior to this game of course. The booking is online and as a new member, I look for spaces in the booked slots around the times I...

    Walking off after abuse

Hi thanks for taking the time to offer your advice. I did feel it was not right for me to continue because of his aggressive attitude. I have mentioned ther response of the others in previous replies, so would respectfully refer you to those. As I also mentioned in previous comments, I had...

    Walking off after abuse

Thanks for all your comments. Very helpful if for the most part psychologically. Looking back, I should have been fair warned as I have played with this bloke before and he nearly took someone's head out with his drive and not shouting fore. However, I felt guilty for losing the flight and not...

You may well be right. I'm a relatively new member of this club too and while I know a number of other members, they choose a less convenient for me to play in the comps. I'm beginning to accept that my expectations are too high for many golfers, even though my expectations are not high at all.
