    Golf apps

Hi, looking for any recommendations on an app for android phone please. Not worried about GPS or that. Would like one that tracks FIR, GIR, putts, sand saves etc and if misses left or right from tee or approach. Happy enough to pay for one if it includes above and is easy to view post round.

    Cupped wrist = more distance??

The instructor i go had me bowing my left wrist. We had a drill where i make the action of taking back a frisbee with your left hand and making same move with a golf club It worked great for a while but you need your legs to get out the way pretty sharpish on the downswing else its hook city...

    golf clubs for xmas

Migjht be better to buy a set of decent branded 2nd hand clubs rather than new cheapo clubs. Cant go wrong with some Ping, Calloway or Titliest clubs.

    driest course East Dunbartonshire

Had thought about it, but im a miserable so and so and i don't want to pay more for golf on top of membership. Plus 1hr travel both ways is a pain. I might well be hoping for too much to find a course up here thats semi playable in the winter!

    driest course East Dunbartonshire

After wet Summer i am wondering what course/s you would consider to have the best drainage in this area. I know most courses are wet right now, but some of the courses around here are total quagmires and there must somewhere around here that can take some water

    Cawder

Thanks for reply, sounds promising. My own course has been wet for 2 months and its not even the winter yet?? Not feeling the love for Winter golf to be fair after an abysmal Summer.

    Gleddoch Golf Club

Bit further out again but Cardross is good, fast greens and excellent drainage

Hi, anyone played Cawder recently? Got a chance to play there this weeken, but if soaking and puddled, then might leave it.

Youtube driver tip - Aiming 4inches before the ball when driving

Yeah, i set up similarly to what you describe. I think if you line the ball up to left heel with the club directly behind the ball it makes your shoulders point left and can encourage a slice or pull type swing. The other thing that will help negate slice is to bow your left wrist on backswing...

    Best Golf purchased you've made!

Electric trolley - went for a basic trolley to take the strain off my back (s1). Absolutely love it and it has taken a couple of shots off my handicap......not to worry though as my erratic driving has put them back on again.....haha

    Rory to use Callaway

Re: rory signs for callaway Would love to see him try out some of the latest offerings from Fazer - would be good of him to promote some of the cheaper lines out there

    sky caddie gt linx

Thanks for reply. Its disappointing to hear about the issues you had. Bit of a dilemma as i dont want to spend best part of £300 on this if the service is poor.

    Gps watch v laser rangefinder

At our course we have a small flag on the main flag. If the pin is at the front of the green the small flag is at the base of the main flag. If pin in middle the wee flag is half way up and so on works quite well on lkng approaches when you are using a gps on front/middle/back format.

Was looking at above with tags for shot tracking, analysis etc Is it any good? The on the course functionality looks good but i havent seen much of the analysis side. Does it give you average distances, total etc per club? I think the app is called sky360 I also liked the look of shot scope...
