Only about 7 weeks since the worst tonsillitis I've ever had, it now appears I've caught tonsillitis again. Might have to seriously consider having them out at this rate, which I didn't particularly want to do. ☹️
Indeed. I have a lovely Uni Qlo one that's incredibly lightweight. Can roll it up and leave it in the bag when not in use. Adds warmth without adding bulk to your arms.
Yep, that's another stupid aspect of it. Why did they bother making rules for when it can't get involved? Can't we just use common sense? I can just picture it now, the VAR operator that watching his screen going "Oh man, the ref's made an absolute howler there - if only I could tell him. Oh...
Of course, the idea of Americans submitting cards when they haven't holed out putts is inconceivable to us, but why should we care really? If they end up with artificially low handicaps that they can't play to when they actually do have to hole putts, they've only harmed themselves haven't they...
Didn't that still happen to Wily Boly? Getting a red card for nothing? They are getting some more decisions correct but not really a vast amount. Ultimately we're still beholden to the competency of the human beings using it. Considering they're taking 3 or 4 minutes I don't think it was...
A lot of people get lazy with it and start leaving them in until they have a putt bounce off the stick. Then back to taking them out for a few weeks. 😄
I go through phases of taking it out for short 'makeable' putts, but then I go through longer phases of 'can't be bothered' and leave it in. e.g. all winter I've been leaving them in as the rounds don't count for anything anyway. Now we're back in board comp season though I might take them out...
If we've learned anything from VAR it's that people will complain no matter what. All that stuff you said happened before VAR and continues to happen now. At least we'd be speeding up the game again and stop disallowing goals when the player was level.
I just want football to be enjoyable...
I agree with you here. People talk about right and wrong decisions, but I doubt offside was ever designed to be reviewed down to a hair's breadth. It's just meant to prevent someone getting an advantage by being obviously nearer the goal than the defenders. A margin that can be eyeballed without...
No, because they were level. That's what I'm saying, the concept of being level has been eroded completely. So now you have to be a few inches further from the goal line than the defender to be onside, which in my opinion is not how it should be.
