I went to Troon on the Sunday. I have to say I thought it was too busy to be able to get the full experience. Grandstands at 8 and 18 were packed and if you weren’t in them you seen very little of those holes. Didn’t bother trying to go down 18 at the end. Did manage to see Xander play 16 &17 so...

Thanks for the replies. Gives us a few things to look into. A few of those we’ve played before and they work well. The thing is, it’s just getting more expensive to do these trips and harder to find a fit that works for everyone.

When does an extreme weather adjustment happen? Played a medal this week in awful weather, umpteen NRs and nobody beat their handicap. Yet no weather adjustment. Does the adjustment also kick in if the weather and course conditions are in your favour and a number of scores come in under handicap?

I paid a fee to Jet2 for return flight from Faro. c£35 from memory. No charge for hold-all on cabin on plane.

Returned home from Vilamoura yesterday. Flights from Glasgow with clubs, 5 nights accommodation, 3 rounds at Dom Pedro Victoria and Vale Do Lobo Royal/Ocean with buggies and transfers came in around £900.
