Space Travel - good or bad?

Sending scientists into space makes a lot more sense than sending pop stars and TV starlets into light orbit. It isn't just what these 4 do now, it what it enables the next mission(s) to do.

    Random Irritations

I think the issue with wedding photography is that ‘everyone’ can replicate the shot the photographer takes with a smartphone WHEN the photographer is there, arranging stuff, managing people, getting the right light conditions, … . The technical bit is secondary these days, especially when you...

    Random Irritations

Question, how fast do you drive when you know there is a traffic light ahead? Dual carriage way, but 40 mph (Twickeenham to M3). We all know there is a traffic light at the Whitton roundabout where you wait, so driving 40 mph, 30 mph, 20 mph, or racing 60 mph doesn't matter, you have the same...

The all things EV chat thread

I understand that it fits in their naming convention as this is their 3 series equivalent, right? But the i3 name was used for a quirky little EV, they can't just reuse it like that. They are nearly as bad as Ford who used iconic names for bland EVs now. Saying that, the Ford Explorer is on my...

    The Footie Thread

if I understand it correctly then NEXT season is not affected (apart from title holder spots) but it affects the season after. this is a good place for all things uefa qualification: https://kassiesa.net/uefa/#google_vignette just looking at it, england seems far ahead of the other countries...

    High Blood pressure

Not entirely blood pressure related, but I went for hospital tests yesterday. The guy in the chair next to me had an angiogram 4 weeks ago and needs stents. He was there last week but he got bumped for emergencies, came back yesterday. They went in with the angiogram again and because he...

    Center Parks

We did a French one last year, looking at a Belgium one this year. We have also done German ones with family from over there. The French one we drove to. On Friday when arriving hardly anyone spoke English. We went on an inset day before the UK holidays officially started. On Saturday it had...

    Car purchase methods

But, right to repair … ? I just replaced a lightbulb on my car. When googling how to do it I came across that with new LED units it would be the full unit to be exchanged rather than just the bulb. Indicator, high beam, stand light, … all working and going ‘in the bin’ as part of a total...

I use the German version of the AA https://www.adac.de/rund-ums-fahrzeug/elektromobilitaet/elektroauto/stromverbrauch-elektroautos-adac-test/#test-elektroautos-reichweite-im-vergleich That’s what AI says about the test The ADAC EcoTest ranges are significantly more realistic than official...

I don’t get PCP either. The argument is that ‘you only pay for depreciation’, but if the 1st few years are the hardest one on that. Then you are only ever getting the bad bits of a contract?

What’s the range like now? Did you get any data? When you load it, how much weight do you usually carry along? Would be interesting to see the difference

Only watched the last 6 holes, happy he held on. Would have been devastating to lose a 4 stroke lead in 5 holes.

TV - What Are You Watching?

I didn’t see that, but I used to golf with a former chef who works restaurant supply chain. Apparently GR has the lowest staff turnover because people actually like him as their boss. Others (also TV chefs) have it like a revolving door because they are a night work with.
