That’s fine and I have also used annual leave in the past, and will again, where dates can’t be found. However, there needs to be a willingness to abide by the conditions of the competition before I am willing to make that sacrifice.
Our KO competition terms are clear that you must be offering weekend dates, if you can’t play weekends you shouldn’t enter, so I think it unreasonable not make yourself available for any of them.
Comp rules state at least 2 weekend dates must be offered since I offered them all I guess he needs to accept one.
We won’t be spinning a coin even if I need to stand on the tee at 10am on the last day to claim it.

He responds “can you only play weekends?”, I confirm this.
3 days later I get “What about Mon-Thu late afternoon?”, I say no, I can’t play weekdays.

Not sure whether we did it but there was talk about having cheap copies made and locking the real ones away.
My thought is if you just lock them away then you are better off selling them, it wouldn’t mean less to me lifting a trophy made of tin vs silver.

I think it’s fine for smaller countries to pair up rather than never be able to host a tournament. Whist England probably has the stadia to accommodate an expanded World Cup. I doubt it our infrastructure could...
