We'd like to take this opportunity to wish you a Happy Holidays and a very Merry Christmas from all at Golf Monthly. Thank you for sharing your 2025 with us!
Not even close. That's the kind of thing that only seems to happen to the team I'm playing against...
Glad you were on the right side of it. Quite a feat.

I haven't found a huge difference in distance between different balls. Only notable exception is Nike's tour-brand, which goes nowhere for me.
ProV1 is plenty long and simply feels better, to me, than comparable orbs.

Man, that's a lot of 3s on one card. Lot of 0s in one check, too.
Glad to see him break through in the US so early. The books are full of young guns who never fulfilled their promise. Looks like Rory's headed in the right direction, provided he can keep his head on straight.

Think all can agree the kid has game to spare. Seems to have the self-belief to match, which is the key to winning majors.
As for his attitude, he seems very aware of his own reputation for being cocky, even has a sense of humor about it... Belt buckle and all. Strikes me as at least being...
I'm pretty well set on clubs, but would consider a new Titleist driver. Otherwise, all "soft goods" -- balls, gloves, couple of shirts, rain gear, and a handful of those naked-lady tees.

If you're hip to their styling, it's tough to beat ECCO for comfort and durability. Extremely well-made shoes.
Easy to beat them on price, of course. Fact is, all the big brands make great stuff, just like the club business.

US Tour site (New Orleans) took a couple of blows when Stricker and Poulter WD'd. Kind of a dead time between the Masters and the bigger pre-US Open events (Byron Nelson, Colonial, Memorial).
Good weekend to actually play golf, rather than watch.

Sounds like the dreaded comfort zone... Especially if those rounds when you play lousy on the front 9, you turn around and play well on the back. End up scoring in the same neighborhood every time.
Never have figured out, personally, how to defeat this mental phenomenon. The times I have broken...
Welcome, Steve. Pretty frightening group you've thrown your lot in with... To paraphrase the Eagles, You can log out any time you like, but you can never leave. (Cue guitar)

Agree with the suggestions to simply grip down a touch and/or ease off the 5-wood. As a 15, you likely have enough feel to pull off less than a full shot with that club.
Advice to swing slow & wide with the long irons is spot-on, too. Started doing that myself a couple years back, and now am...
To add to my earlier post, I know a fellow who actually was a pro at one time but suffered from a debilitating disease that sapped his strength. His play, post-illness, was pretty average, but his swing was (is) a thing of beauty. He just doesn't have the power to hit it with the force of a pro...
