Really interesting.
I went to get fitted at callaway. I was told that I was standard for everything (5ft 8, carrying a little holiday weight!). BUT I was told by the fitter that once I had been playing for a while and my swing developed (still waiting!) the chances were I would probably need to...
Thanks Guys.
I will hunt out the northern thread, I am really rusty, but if the rest are up for it...
I will try the PM process again, thanks TonyN & Blindpete
I have been a member of the forum for a while, learning lots and enjoying the many debates.
I am in the process of completing my move to Chester. I have not played for nearly a year (got down to 22 in the first year)but am looking to see if there are any members in the Chester area that might...
I played this format a few times. Really good fun! If you are not first to play, it means you can try a few shots you would not normally play. Be aware of Madandra's point. I fell foul of this one - I was not popular!
Enjoy
there are so many in my short golfing career. My 2 favourites are:
1. Taking a forum members advice down the range to groove and in to out swingpath, I placed my brand new headcover just outside the target line and proceeded to drive said headcover straight down the centre of the range. Great...
Could not agree more with the previous posts.
I have only been playing for 18 months and still play each hole as a unique hole, in other words a mini matchplay with myself (sounds mad but you get the point). That way a poor hole I can blank out and not let it affect the next hole/shot.
Works...
When I first started I asked for advice on curing my power fade.... one piece of advice I got, and it really worked, was to make sure you turn your HIPS as near to 90 degrees as well as your shoulders.
I still slice, but a lot less frequently.. I have even hit a few draw shots which were...
I have callaways and play off 22 (down from 28 hurray!). The best thing I did, following advice from the forum, was getting fitted.
Once I had done that I just bought the clubs I needed rather then a whole set, again saving unnecessary expense. My ball flight improved, especially from dodgy...
I guess I was thinking whether my game would be better off being put on ice until I can focus properly and get some lessons, or snatch the odd range session as and when.
I suppose off 22 you could argue it would make no difference!
I have just relocated from London to Chester and am working so hard have no time for golf (not by choice!)
The question is: should I grab the odd few holes and a bit of range time when I can, or put the clubs away until work calms down and I can give it the attention golf needs.
I managed to...
Thanks both.
As weekends will be my main time (especialy during the winter) the thought of being restricted by numerous societies does not appeal, especially if I am paying a lot! thanks hacknslash
